Meet Madison the Shpper and True Blue "Sweet Cuppies"

Each month I add a few new colours to the "Sweet Cuppies" line and I have just added the latest 2 for July 2009....One is a Chocolate Pink Sweet Cuppie and the other is the Shades of Blue Sweet Cuppie....There are 2 dolls available in my shop in the new colours and you can also purchase a kit to "Make your Own Sweet Cuppies Doll" all you need is a sewing machine and some stuffing....you can click on each photo to head to the shop or Click here to see the whole line....

I adore these cute little dolls...they always make me smile and I hope they make you smile too....

I am the guest host on Mixed Media Monday ...here is my theme this week!

Hi Everyone....I am so happy to be the guest host this week on Mixed Media Monday....For the challenge I picked the theme "Playful Dolls" and I had so much fun working on these paper art dolls....They all have movable parts and I put them together with brads....I am creating more of these as they are so much fun and I love putting them together.....The first one above even has options....from an ice cream cone in her hand.....a cupcake or a bouquet....you make the choice....

The two others below are all decked out for a night on the town....

too wonderful to stay in! Cole just loves being outside...and so do we ....

Hi Everyone....I love working my own hours....especially during the summer when the weather is wonderful and you can enjoy the outdoors and swimming....we have been outside enjoying the hot weather ....work has been a late evening thing for me till the wee hours....

I just love enjoying everything through Cole's eyes....he really opens up my eyes to see all kinds of wonderful things around us....and it is like waking up and really seeing things for the first time...I just adore him!!!

I just can't stop with these!! They are so much fun to make and so neat to add to cards, gift boxes and anything...

Hi Everyone...i just added two new designs to my sticker line called "Sweet Treats" I love these stickers...I have to say the the ones with my "Sweet Cuppie" family are so sweet too....I added a few to a section in my Shop on-line so I can get them to anyone in the world...not just the people in my small town shops.....

Well off to work on a deadline for July 1st so I will be back later....

and perhaps I will take a break and create something else for the line...

Fan Art for Cole's invites!!! Diana Evans' Style....

Hi Everyone....I just wanted to share the design for this years Birthday invites...Every year I try to incorporate something that Cole loves and this year all he wants for his Birthday are his friends...Spongebob, Squidward, Patrick, Mr. Krabs and Sandy....so I made some special "Fan Art" for the front of his invitations....I think it is pretty cute and funny!!!

Mixed Media Monday - tell me a story....

Hi Everyone....this week's theme on MMM is "Tell me a story" so I thought I would share some Published work from a Children's literature magazine I worked on in 2007....this story is a very interesting take on a Stepmother story with a scary end....the magazine was more about the darker side of children's lit and it was fun to work on....I also love looking at my older work and seeing how I have grown from the past.....and now for the story.....

Happy Father's Day !!!

Hi Everyone....We wish all of the Father's out there a wonderful day with family....may you enjoy special times together....if there is one thing we learned this week ...it would be the importance to enjoy each and every day and enjoy our families for as long as we possibly can.....

These are 2 special cards I created for My Dad...and for Brad ...the father of my cutie pie....I hope we enjoy a wonderful day together as family....and my Father-in-Law will be in our thoughts and prayers on Father's day too.....

The card I made for my Dad this year features Cole and this huge 10 pound loaf of amazing rye bread....it is part of a fun assortment of gifts for DAD and Grandpa....he will get a laugh when Cole rings the doorbell carrying this loaf...hehehehe

Thank you and my take on IF this week...."Drifting"

Hi Everyone....firstly I would like to thank all of my wonderful blog friends for helping us through this most difficult time...I think the shock hasn't worn off yet.....Today is the visitation and we thank you for your support and prayers during this very sad time.....

I created a piece for the IF Prompt this week...."Drifting" .....at first I was going to do something sad....but then I found some comfort in my sketchbook and my ink...and created my flying chickens....everyone knew chickens couldn't fly....but Randy Rooster wanted the new hens to know that anything is possible if you Believe....so he got them all hooked into their parachutes and they were "Drifting" all day....and now that they believed anything was possible Randy's job was done.....

Have faith in your dreams and always know that there may be a way to do what you want to do....you just have to take a chance and believe.....

Losing a child....

With sadness I write this post....yesterday our nephew died in a tragic car crash and we are in so much shock over it that we can hardly believe it....Life is so scary in times like these when you wonder why something like this happens.....to someone so young ...so full of life and health....
It makes you really realize what a gift each and every day is...and how we should never take anything for granted....I mean anything.....So do me a favor and remember this and take time each day to do the right thing ...to call your family....to tell them how much they mean to you....to share in life ......we all think that things can never happen to us....but the truth is anything can happen at any time....and you can never ever be prepared ....so you just have to live and cherish each moment....I haven't created anything new yet today...so I added a picture my Mom made me when I was a wee little girl...she said the angel watched over us...(my brother and I) and now this angel sits in our sons room watching over him.....and I know that an angel is with our nephew and his family today and always.....

Wednesdays in Paris....

Hi Everyone...for anyone new to my blog every Wednesday I feature some art inspired by the city of lights.....La Ville-Lumière.....Do you know why Paris is called "the city of lights"

Paris is called the "city of lights' because it is the most- lit city in the world.
In 1828, Paris was the first city in Europe to use gas lamps. It used gas lamps to light the Champs De Elysees......having all these lights earned it the nickname La Ville Lumiere....The City of Lights.....pretty neat!!! I know whenever I hear Paris my eyes light up!!!

I am having so much fun with Wednesdays in Paris....and this week's watercolour is inspired by the Eiffel Tower.....It is created with 140 lb watercolour paper, liquid watercolour paints, ink and metallic liquid acrylics....It is inspired by Spring in Paris....and I hope you enjoy it!

Hi Everyone.....Here are some shots of the packaging for the new sticker line...I have added a new section in my Etsy Shop for Handmade stickers....These are even more wonderful in person with the glitter embellishment.....Imagine all the fun things you can create with these acid free archival quality stickers....

Hi Everyone....I am so excited about this new line of handmade and hand embellished stickers that I will be releasing soon....they are so much fun and can be used in all kinds of projects....they are made with the highest quality papers and adhesive so you can create wonderful pieces and scrapbook pages that will last for years and years.....not to mention that the sky is the limit for using these fun new stickers....

The Baker's Dozen....yummm!!!

Hi Everyone....you know I like to start my week's off with a sweet start...so here is my take on this week's theme at Mixed Media Monday....the theme is numbers and I kept thinking about the number 13 and the Baker's dozen....plus it reminds me of my favorite Baker ...who always gives me a yummy snack for the ride home....so here it is....I added some french to the piece as pink cupcakes remind me of Paris....no reason why...they just do!

What do you do when you forget your sketch pad?

Hi Everyone....

We had the most wonderful Saturday....it was filled with quality time ...just the three of us...from a day at the beach to some shopping to a wonderful dinner out....and then some fun rides in the field....

Well when we were at the beach I found so many amazing rocks...it was so neat....and I sat there and looked for my sketchbook and my pens....then I found that I had left it home...(which I never do) so I decided to draw on the rocks....and here are some of my fun rock sketches.....I also took a big bag of rocks home for more sketching....

Wednesdays in Paris....

Hi Everyone....I am thinking a lot about Paris these days and debating whether or not we go there for our 10th Anniversary vacation in the fall....our anniversary is on June 5th but it's too wonderful around here to head off on a vacation now....so we hope to head somewhere later this year...

For the upcoming weeks...every Wednesday will be "Wedensdays in Paris" and I will create a watercolor to enjoy everything Parisienne....so put on your best little black dress...and let's grab a latte in Paris!!!

A box of Goodies from a Sweet Friend....The Art of Diane - dianesmixedart.blogspot.com/

Hi Everyone....I had to pick up a package from the Post office today and this is what I picked up....Diane....a dear friend created some amazing pieces for Cole and I...Cole was so excited to get this special piece of art made especially for him.....he wanted to make some special little video clips to show how excited he is with the dinosaur.......

I met Diane a while back when she started purchasing my art....she has been a wonderful and dear friend and I am grateful to have met her.....Diane is always paying it forward and giving people wonderful art she creates....it is beautiful and you can check more of her work out on her blog.....

here is Cole's Special Dinosaur collage work by Diane.....He lovesssssss it!!! and you can see him in the two videos below...what a cutie pie!! Thank you Diane....you really made our day with this box of wonderful ART!!!

Here is my special pig Diane created....I love pigs and they seem to bring me so much luck....I love it and it sits with some of Cole's Art now....Thank you so much Diane!!!

Diane also made me these two wonderful mixed media pieces....the one above is wax work and the special one of our family dog Minnie is one of her cool transfer pieces....She is so sweet and you have to go by and say hello to her....

Thank you again Diane...you are very dear to our hearts and your card was so touching and sweet....I feel very blessed to know you.....and I hope these videos of Cole bring you a smile.....

A wonderful weekend celebrating our 10th Anniversary! and my submission to MMM.....

Hi Everyone....sorry I haven't popped by ....but we have been away celebrating our 10th Anniversary....Brad took us up to his family cottage up in Huntsville where we enjoyed wonderful weather....nights out at some great local restaurants and special rides in Daddy's boat!!! Cole was with us....we couldn't celebrate without our little munchkin...and he loves riding in Daddy's boat....he kept telling us how he wants to learn how to water ski....and Brad can hardly wait to teach him....like his Dad taught him.....I created a special sketch while I sat on the back deck staring at the greatest view.....and added a lace top on the finished piece so I could submit it to Mixed Media Monday.....I even incorporated a background of our lake view up there....this will be framed for Brad as a wonderful Memory.... Brad always lets me drive his boat....he is so sweet!!! and Cole always gets so happy when we take turns driving....so this is a memory from the weekend....

The two men in my life....they both melt my heart!!!

and they both want to boat all day long!!!

Here's to 10 years!!! I'm "Craving" some Anniversary Cake!!!

Hi Everyone....today is our 10th Anniversary....hard to imagine that 10 years ago I was getting ready to become Brad's wife...wow...time sure flies when you're having fun!

This is the card I created for Brad....the tree represents growth and the heart leaves are love that keeps growing....10 heart leaves for 10 years....the birds are us....and the nest is our son Cole....I also added an egg as we hope to have more children.....

Hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend....I will be celebrating this weekend and will visit you all when I have a chance!!!
