A cute little baker for 10 Minute Warm Up.....

Happy Thursday Everyone....

I am missing munchkin more than he is missing me....so I was inspired by our baking together and made a little baker for my 10 Minute Warm Up today....I am hoping to spend some quality time with munchkin on the weekend and I think we may just bake something together....I know that 10 Minutes sounds like a blink of an eye....but seriously...try it out....after a while you will have so much fun creating and will look forward to it!!! It is a habit for me now and a great way to start the day in the Studio.....
I also want to share this video with you...I watch this almost everyday!!! Always believe in your dreams!!!
10 Minute Warm Up is about taking 10 minutes of your day to breathe, relax, open up your mind to possibilities and then create something....you can be inspired to sketch your coffee cup....something on your desk....your table....anything....try it....it is a great way to start the day....then pop back here and share it so we can all see and be inspired by each other!!! My newest cupcake toppers....in time for Halloween.....

Is it me or are there more of us out there....you know the people that want to control everything....make everything perfect....spread themselves too thin.....lol.....well I have been known to get into way more than I should but seriously I just can't help myself....I love to create all kinds of things....from silly things to even sillier things.....so of course I had to create some new cupcake toppers for my shop....

I just love creating illustrations as inspired by some vintage things from the past....so I have these super silly and fun illustrations that were screaming to become some Halloween cupcake toppers....so I worked on these....and they just make me happy!!!

What do you think? who is your favorite character in the lot......lol....I am partial to the Jack-o-lantern guy!!!

What's on my workspace Wednesday......working digital today....

Hi Everyone....since last week I shared with you all some pen and ink sketches in my Sketchbook....this week I happen to have this cutie on my workspace right now and I am working on some colour variations of this piece....so I thought it was perfect to share what I have on my workspace this Wednesday....

I hope you are all having a super inspiring week filled with all kinds of fun creative projects and I hope that you will all pop back often to see how this latest work unfolds....

My process is pretty simple....I always work with a pencil in my sketchbook....when I create what seems to be to my liking...I then do an ink version of the piece....scan it and then work with Illustrator and Photoshop to clean it all up and make it happy.....Sharing this with everyone over at WOYWW.....a fun place to see what people are working on.....love it!!!

My Sweet Saturdays week 54 post!!!

Hi Everyone....and welcome to my share for Sweet Saturdays week 54....today I am sharing some cupcakes I baked for my sweet guys.....I made chocolate cupcakes with a chocolate filling and then made a buttercream frosting with some run and pear brandy....They seemed to be a huge hit....so I am going to have to make these again....

Chocolate Cupcakes.....

Ingredients

    1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour

    1/4 teaspoon baking soda

    2 teaspoons baking powder

    3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

    1/8 teaspoon salt

    3 tablespoons butter, softened

    1 1/2 cups white sugar

    2 eggs

    3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1 cup milk

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a muffin pan with paper or foil liners.

Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition, then stir in the vanilla. Add the flour mixture alternately with the milk; beat well. Fill the muffin cups 2/3 full.

Bake for 15 to 17 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Frost with your favorite frosting when cool.

My Sweet Saturdays - week 51...Happy Easter Everyone!!!

Hi Everyone....

I am still working on getting back on track after some technical work and glitches....so I am sorry if I have missed popping by your blogs.....I will be back in full swing after this Easter long weekend...we are looking forward to spending wonderful times with our families and friends...and I am so happy to have Sweet Saturdays up and running again this week....without a computer last week I felt lost!!! so here I am sharing some of my Easter baking .....it is sweet literally.....

I can't wait to decorate eggs with my family and enjoy celebrating the real meaning of this Blessed time....

My Sweet Saturdays week 45 Post....how sweet are these boxes!!!!

Happy Sweet Saturday Everyone....I was looking around for some fun ideas and you know me and cupcakes......and I stumbled on this amazing idea on this one blog.....Called "Sweet Simple Stuff" They have the cutest idea for these super fun edible treat boxes....so at my next dinner party I will have these on everyone's plate in little cellophane bags....all tied with some gorgeous ribbon.....they can take these cute treats home and not to mention how cute the will be on the table!!!!

I also found a recipe I will have to try....this week I was craving my favorite ice cream....Spumoni....and did a quick little search and found these cupcakes on this blog called....."How to eat a cupcake" don't they make you want some Spumoni ice cream!!! I will post some photos once I try this recipe out!!!

Super Easy Marshmallow cut outs for cupcakes and cakes.....

Hi Everyone....

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day yesterday.....I ate way too much and enjoyed a little more chocolate than I should have....but it was so much fun!!

Anyways....I was making my famous Fudge Chocolate Peanut Butter cupcakes with Ganache and was going to pipe white chocolate hearts for the tops....but I ran out of white chocolate so I quickly looked in my pantry and found marshmallows, coloured sugar and cookie cutters....and I thought....why not....so I made these cute little pink sugared marshmallow hearts and they were a big hit....

I think you can use this method for a multitude of shapes and these would look amazing on cakes too!!!
