10 Minute Warm Up.....Meet my Lady Bug .......

Hi Everyone.....For my 10 Minute Warm Up today I am sharing this piece in colour. My little lady bug and leaves from yesterday....I can't wait to start my gardening and I especially can't wait to plant some yummy vegetables we will enjoy this summer....there is something satisfying about planting your own seeds you harvested from your own plants and using them every year.....like a special cycle....and the best part about growing your own food is knowing what is in it.....totally organic...and delish......I also love lady bugs because they are natural way to control pests in your gardens....so today they have inspired this piece......I also hope that you will all join me in my 10 Minute Warm Ups.....I know you will get addicted like I have......

Paint Party Friday....celebrating scrumptious sights

Hi Everyone.....

we are picking our tomatoes and enjoying all kinds of wonderful things from our garden...so in light of all the yummy goodness I am sharing some watercolour,  ink and acrylic pieces with you all for Paint Party Friday this week....We had the greatest Summer ever and things are slowly but surely back into the swing of things around here.....and pretty soon we will all be inspired by the knock of Autumn on our doors....and I can't wait....I love each and every Season....they all bring with them a freshness and beauty in their own ways....So bring it on....I am ready for all the splendor of Fall.....

Some fruits of our Labor.....

Hi Everyone....we are busy picking and enjoying plenty of yummy treats from our vegetable garden....the one reason I love summer is having a garden.....watching it grow and enjoying all of the goodness that it brings....
I am making a super yummy tomatoe salad tonight using some tomatoes, oil, vinegar, garlic and chopped basil.....super fresh and super easy....

and we just love basil and garlic and tomatoes....yummmy!!!

The little things that make me happy.....working in the garden...

Hi Everyone....

Hope you are all having a wonderful week....today I thought I would share some photos of our vegetable garden....I am so happy when we work together to grow yummy treats we can enjoy all season long...Cole is an expert with herbs and weeding and he loves to garden with me.....

I visit the garden each day and even picking weeds seems to make me happy these days....It is the little things around us that mean the most...

Just trimmed my boxwood garden.....

As many of you know, I am in love with gardening....from my flower gardens to my vegetable garden to my boxwood garden....so I am happy to report that I just trimmed up my boxwood garden....this garden is special to me....we put it in on our 3rd Anniversary.....every year we try to do something special that we can enjoy for years to come...I do all the trimming and my sweet husband vacuums up all of the trimmed pieces....he is a sweetheart! I also have two teddy bear topiaries that I just trimmed up and they are as cute as can be!!!

I am off to get some work done....hope you all have a super amazing day and Happy Memorial Day to all of my American friends in blogland!

Paint Party Friday......and Illustration Friday - soaked

We have had rain here for days now...and I thought I would look at the bright side of things and be thankful that I don't have to water anything....so I was sitting in the Studio thinking of something to create and this sweet watering girl popped into my head....so this is my piece for PPF today.....and I just looked at the prompt for IF this week and it is "soaked" so I must have psychic powers.....lol

Tomatoes! the best things in life are free.....

Today was all about family...just me and my two boys...we did some gardening...we trimmed some trees, we picked some lavender and tomatoes and we swam and enjoyed all of the wonder around us....we didn't have to go anywhere....we didn't have to spend a dime...it was priceless...and the greatest part of the whole day was our son looking at us this evening and saying....

"Mommy and Daddy, we had a really good day"

He always puts things into perspective.....bless his cute little heart!!!

Rain for a few days.....but we are welcoming it!

We are getting rain on and off here for the next few days and I welcome it...so that all my gardens can get some watering....I took these photos the other day....one of the plants in one of my deck pots...they are so cheery and beautiful......

Then I took some photos of our lunch outside....Cole and I almost always eat al fresco when it is nice out!!!!!

Weekend Food and Fun!!!

Hi Everyone....I hope you're all having a lovely weekend....we are enjoying family time, bbqs and gardening....what fun....Minnie here wishes you all a happy weekend too...Cole and Minnie are always running around and enjoy anywhere from 8-10 hours of outside fun.....

Here is Cole helping me with our vegetable garden...he loves to water it and eat all the herbs....basil is his favorite....

It doesn't look like much now....but eventually this will be perfection in our tummies....

Weeding, Weeding...Gone....

Hi Everyone....

I haven't had the chance to finish off some of my illustrations because I have been outside weeding all of our gardens....

I am happy to say that we finished weeding the front garden, the vegetable garden and I managed to trim my box wood garden...

Brad built Cole his own sand box since we could barely get him to leave the beach...

my yummy vegetable garden ...we are eating all kinds of yummy lettuces and baby greens these days...I can't wait till we can eat some yummy peppers and tomatoes...with basil...

Minnie always keeps me company when I work in the garden...she is so sweet.....

and I love the lavendar...as I work I can smell it and it is relaxing....

I will be working on my give aways this weekend!!!
