Mini Cupcake Painting - Original Pink Butter Cream

Hi Everyone....I just took a break from courses and made a little 5in x 5in gallery wrapped painting....I am almost finished the entire book design for my latest picture book and will be working on the cover in between my courses this week....Since the theme on IMT is "Cupcake" I thought I would share this zero calorie treat with you all.... if you want to pick it up for a gift for you or someone sweet...you can pop by my shop!!!

Inspire me Thursday and Illustration Friday all mixed up!

Hi Everyone....This week's theme on IF is Caution....and the theme on Inspire Me Thursday is "Cupcakes" and you know I love everything about cupcakes...so I made a piece for IF and IMT and also added my Original Cupcake dolls called "Sweet Cuppies"

I designed these original Cupcake dolls...right down to the design of the fabric.......these are handmade cutie pies...or shall I say "Sweet Cuppies"
I have a whole line in my Etsy Shop!!!

I sometimes feel like an owl...everyone does call me a night owl...and I love to stay up and work late.....

Inspire Me Thursday - Handmade Gifts...my wooden snowflakes and Fannie Narte's Holiday Giveaways....

I have not shopped a lot this year....(if I have it's been buying handmade wonders from creatives)......and working hard to create all kinds of wonderful art and special custom pieces for family and friends....I am showing you this piece...I made a special wooden snowflake with the Holy Family on it...I used my wood burning tool to make all the details...and the finished piece...has some added sparkle...

to me the true meaning of Christmas is the birth of Jesus.... and sharing great times with family and friends.....and speaking of friends......

I created a special illustration of Brie holding up a "Peace Symbol" and also added a template from the site above and added some fun clip art and shapes to art it up....

Today was a wonderful day...the sun was shining and we headed over to Mary's place for Brunch...it was a lot of fun...so much so that we will be doing this again next week at our home...

Happy April Fool's Day!!! Inspire Me Thursday "2" it just happens to fit...hehehe

The theme this week on Inpsire Me Thursday is "2" and you know I have been doing all kinds of crazy things with cupcakes ....so in keeping with my "Sweet Ladies" series...I have created a new one...

This piece is titled...."Nice Cupcakes" and is inspired by my friend Mark...(he leaves the funniest comments) I added all three...the B&W, the Digital and the watercolor one....

Illustration Friday & Inspire Me Thursday theme "Leap"...and updates on my Grandfather...

Mr. Leap of Faith Avenue...always wondered why he seemed to be missing mail...

I wasn't sure I was going to do any illustrations for a few days....but I couldn't sleep and kept eyeing my sketchbook...so here is a quickie for IF and IMT...

I would like to thank everyone who left me all the supportive comments about my Grandfather...it means a lot to me to hear from you ...and I am grateful....

we spent today with him in the hospital and it was nice to be able to actually talk to him and he understood me and responded...his condition is not getting any better at the moment...so we pray and hope for the best....

Inspire Me Thursday "Action Painting" , Yummy Sketch of the Day, and another little black dress....

Hi Everyone...

This week's theme on Inspire Me Thursday is "action painting" “style of painting in which paint is spontaneously dribbled, splashed or smeared onto the canvas, rather than being carefully applied.”

In 1997 I did this painting when I was in my "introspective period" It seems to fit the theme this week.....

The "Yummy Sketch of the Day" is a refreshing Panna Cotta with a lemon sauce and fresh fruit.
I added a link to a recipe for this dessert.

I had to add a new Cute Little Black Dress too...

Inspire me Thursday - Theme "Faces", Yummy Sketch of the Day and some fun stuff

Hi Everyone...

Lots of stuff in today's post....Inspire Me Thursday's theme this week is "faces" so I took a bunch of my favorite work and put it together in this collage....

Also perfect with the theme is this special Valentine's Day card I made for my husband from Cole and I....you add faces to the pop ups in the card and the front becomes a "peek a boo" window....

I printed the templates and photos and then put it all together and embellished the card....I have to also figure out what special treats I will be making for Valentine's Day...hmmmmm

Can't wait to see Brad's reaction Thursday...

I also feature a special Valentine's Day Heart cake...all iced and decorated with special roses...

Inspire Me Thursday - Outside my comfort zone...

I have thought about this week's theme and thought and thought about doing something outside my comfort zone...and this is what came to mind...

There was this tree in the far distance that I could see from all of our back windows and from our backyard....it was a very old and wonderful tree....it gave me inspiration and comfort just looking at it change throughout the seasons...Over the last few years it was not doing so well and the owner had to have it cut down on January 21st 2008....The day this happened I just watched in awe as the tree fell to the ground bringing with it many of my thoughts. The tree was so large and was more than 100 years old...imagine all that has happened in it's lifetime...Later that day my husband brought me a part of that tree...(he knew how much it meant to me) I am going out of my comfort zone and will be carving something special out of that tree....I am wondering what it will be ....it has to be something magical, something as special as that tree was to me...
