Mixed Media Monday - Romance and my spectacular extra long weekend up north!!

Hi Everyone!!!

I am back from an extended long weekend filled with one of my favorite past times...Sledding...

I also have my submission for Mixed Media Monday ready...the theme is "Romance" and I created some new wooded art dolls for the prompt this week....these two are a very odd couple but they manage to keep the romance in their lives....and they are all ready for Valentine's Day!!!

I just can't stop making these dolls...I am sure I will have plenty more ideas this week...they are part of my painting a day project and I love painting on wood...for a change....

I also thought I would share some photos from the wonderful weekend we had with family and friends up at the cottage....I have been sledding for over 13 years now and I still get blown away by the amazing beauty we find of the trails....I stop and take it all in...it is pure magic and I am so grateful I get to see this....no matter how cold it gets this always warms my heart....My wonderful husband got me hooked when we started dating and now I am addicted!!!

I just love driving over lakes...to think we swim and water ski on this very same water...

My sister in law Monika ...I am so blessed to have such an amazing sister in law...she always makes me smile and laugh and I love her!!!

My Dad also made it out this weekend and he enjoyed some ice fishing with his friends...he was the only one who caught a big one this weekend!!!

My Dad means the world to me....and I love him with all my heart!!! I was so happy he caught this fish...he could hardly wait to show us!!!

the scenery is amazing and I just love experiencing all this beauty....breathtaking!!!

Here is a friendly guy we met on our travels....

but the greatest part of experiencing anything is sharing it with the people you love and I was lucky enough to enjoy this with my loved ones!!!

Lady Liberty comes to life...and my art creations friday piece....

Hi Everyone....I just finished the latest doll ....you remember the sketch from yesterday...well this is Lady Liberty completed....

I have to say that these painting a day projects are making me so happy as an artist ....I feel like I am in my own little world when I create these and it is so much fun to sketch the idea first and then create the art doll...I hope you love her!!!

In this shot of her...I used one of Cole's paintings as a back drop!! his art is so inspiring isn't it...

I also haven't had a chance to participate in Art Creations Friday for a while now...but this week I thought I would...so I had to use the photo on their site and this is what I altered it into...

Theme Thursday - Pink and Black ...and my latest doll design...coming soon!!!

HI Everyone....here is my latest design for a mermaid pendant...for little girls who love to be different.....and the rough sketch below......She is the first mermaid that is all pink and black...very rare in the seas off of the Coastline of Croatia.....It is said that she is pink like a flamingo due to her strict diet of sea shrimps......

I also wanted to share my latest sketch for a new wooden peg doll that will be coming out this week...so be sure to pop by so you can see her come to life......I love New York and this lady reminds me of freedom....so I thought she would make a perfect art doll .....

Queen Bee heads to the Carnival...Crazy Amigos Challenge....

Hi Everyone....my painting a day project has taken me to paint on all kinds of objects...and now my new found love is creating these art dolls....I wanted to create some preliminary sketches of my designs before I create the physical doll...so be sure to pop back tomorrow...so you can check out the completed piece....This is "Fiona Honeybee"....she is the Queen of her hive and is out for a fun time at the Carnival...I am submitting this sketch to the CAC blog this week as the theme is "Carnival"

My Love Bugs and Illustration Friday - Focus

Hi Everyone....Hope you all had a wonderful week....this week's theme on Illustration Friday is "Focused" and I decided to show you my new paintings and a piece from a while ago...when I think of focused...I think of busy bees that are focused on their work....and nothing else....and who can blame them...heading to see all kinds of beautiful flowers.....I also have a sweet little Lady bug...but she is more focused on finding a mate.........and last but not least .....

I added this fortune teller...she always has to be focused so she can give the correct fortunes to her clients......she wants them to keep coming back.....
