10 Minute Warm Up .....Tuesday.....Shells in Colour....and my food idea....

Hi Everyone....

Hope you are all having a wonderful start to the week....I am getting back into the swing of things here in the Studio and also enjoying my 10 minute warm up pieces....today I am sharing the shells all in colour....it was nice to enjoy some morning coffee in silence and just colour these shells....

I am also confessing that I was way too bad on our vacation and need to get on track and start a healthy diet...so here goes...I thought it would be easier if I had to take photos of everything I eat....post them....and this way I am more aware of my food intake....everything on our trip was delish and huge!!! just how I am feeling when we got back....so I am going to focus on me and get into some healthy habits....I am starting off with a nice big breakfast....I know it doesn't seem like a diet conscious one....but I love breakfast!!! so today....some coffee....and a bagel with smoked salmon cream cheese and cucumbers....

I am going to post my morning food here...and then tweet my other meals during the day!! so follow my tweets here.....and help me stay on track!!!! Thank you everyone...

10 Minute Warm Up is about taking 10 minutes of your day to breathe, relax, open up your mind to possibilities and then create something....you can be inspired to sketch your coffee cup....something on your desk....your table....anything....try it....it is a great way to start the day....then pop back here and share it so we can all see and be inspired by each other!!! Shells are in colour and I am playing around with backgrounds.....what do you think?

Hi Everyone....

I am always fascinated about how much a background can change an illustration....something so simple as a different colour or tone can add so much or sometimes even take away from a piece....so today I finished adding some colour to my shell illustrations and decided to show you how much fun it can be playing around with backgrounds....I could honestly go on and on with this fun little exercise .....this is also something we do when we work on surface designs for art licensing.....oftentimes you may have the same design in a variety of colours to meet the needs of all of the consumers....so what do you think? what is your favorite background here........

 I love shells and I think my favorite background is the first one and the fourth one....it highlights the shells and I immediately think of the beach when I look at them......
