Same Illustration bits...a whole new art piece....the beauty of creating individual layers of art....

Hi Everyone...so here we are with day two of this super fun challenge where I show you that creating your art in layers can be so much fun and you can save time by creating things once and using them over and over.....yesterday you saw a piece I created using a few of these illustrations...today I show you all of the pieces apart and then I show you a piece where I used one base....all of the fun Halloween inspired heads and some fun accessories....see I am all about accessories even in my art......

The cool thing about creating each illustration as a single piece is I will be able to re-use these for various Holidays and art that I create....and I only had to create pieces once....all I do is change the colours, the locations, the sizes and flip them any which way I please......

Now off to work on some more variations of these illustration bits.....

Boo! more Halloween inspired work....and creating elements you can use over and over....

Hi Everyone....today I am showing you how you can create a few pieces and re-use them to create multiple art pieces....for example I created these art blocks that are used to create words....I designed two different ones that I will be using all week to create new art pieces....all inspired by Halloween....so pop back and see how this plot unfolds....As an Illustrator it is important to keep pieces as separate entities...this way you could use them for all sorts of applications....it also creates a cohesive line of work if you are into art licensing.....

oh what fun!!! a Halloween collection....

I just got a lovely note from Teresa, the shop owner at
Cedar Junction which is filled with collage, assemblage, mixed media art!!

She curated this super fun Halloween collection that makes me want to create more Halloween Art!!!

The Treasury is called "Candy Corn in my bucket" and you can pop by and show us some love and don't forget to click through the wonderful collection too!!! She featured my Black cat vintage cupcake toppers!!! what fun!!!

Does an artist really ever go on a vacation and not create?

There have been times I packed for my vacations and forgot some clothes...but I have never forgotten to bring some art supplies...this past mini-vacation I did pack a bunch of stuff in case I got inspired and this is what I made...and I have been inspired to create some more Halloween inspired art...so here they are!!!

Presenting my Jacks on the boxes!!! and my new spool dolls....

I am submitting these cute creations to Mixed Media Monday this week...the theme is "warm it up" and these just make me feel all warm like warm fires in the fall...the colours are all warm....and they were so fun to work on.....

All of these guys will be heading to my Etsy shop and I will be creating some new things too!!! so stop by and see all that is happening in and out of my studio....
