Paint Party Friday....some new commissions....2 homes and 2 beach scenes...

Hi Everyone....

Happy Paint Party Friday....I was a busy bee this week with all sorts of fun projects....I also painted 4 commissions this week....two beach scenes and two home paintings.....so it was a wonderful week. I am so blessed to have wonderful clients that come back to have me paint for them.....if you ever want a custom painting I have a special shop dedicated to my custom work here....

I had a super fun Halloween week too that started off with a fun costume party last Saturday where I was Día de los Muertos inspired in dress and make up and ended up winning best costume...

I can't remember the last time I got all scary and in costume for a fun party like that....it was a great time...and Wednesday night we lucked out and the storm subsided so we could take out our munchkin for some Halloween sights and tricks and treats....overall a wonderful week!!

Hope you all had a great week and we send out our prayers to all those impacted by the scary storm called Sandy......

Happy Paint Party Friday Everyone....and Happy Creating!

Picking some Lavender in the Garden and showing a few new Commissions on my workspace....

Hello Everyone....

A little early for WOYWW.....but it is a hot one out there and I am in the cool Studio working away and decided to share what's on my workspace. I worked on two watercolour commissions for a very sweet client I have been working with for a while now....These are special pieces that will go to his new clients that have moved to Wasaga Beach.....I am always a fan of beach scenes!!!

I picked some bunches of my lavender for drying this morning before the day got super hot and also packaged up these paintings to head to their new homes.........

then my day in the Studio started and I have so many new ideas brewing in my mind....I have a few more paper dolls to work on for my book coming out this year so I am in full swing with those pieces and my latest picture book will come to life right here on my blog soon....with daily sketches and updates....so be sure to tag along and join me on this journey!!!

Happy Tuesday/Wednesday and Happy Creating Everyone!!!

Are you skiing yet?

We have been having very mild weather here.....the other day we beat our record set in 1932....for teh warmest day in November.....so I feel bad for all of the snow lovers that are longing to ski.....

I am enjoying the balmy weather but i sure hope that is snows for Christmas....I love having a White Christmas....

Anyways....today I am sharing a custom commission I worked on for a client this weekend.....this is all about snow and skiing.....it is a gift for someone that is moving to Collingwood....and loves to ski...so I hope they love this ink and watercolour piece......

What do you think? Are you longing for snow yet?

Happy Monday and Happy Creating!!!!

For us here in Canada .....it's all about the Cottage......

cottage art commission

I love everything about cottages...they are places we go to and they seem a world away from all the business of everyday life...When I write my picture books I usually spend one week at our cottage north to finish all the rough sketches for the book.....there is nothing there...no phones...except my blackberry...which I need for work....and no other distractions...I love that you can keep your windows open at night and the sweet scent of pines and clean air flow over you as you sleep.....not to mention that the best sleep you will every get will most likely be at the cottage....the bon fires, the food and treats...the water....that is what cottage life is all about....and I love it....This year I have a new book I wrote at my parents place by the beach....and will finish at my husbands place in the North on a lake....stay tuned to hear more about my latest picture book.....

and now for some work.....

A client of mine sent me this wonderful watercolour commission....this cottage will be owned by someone special and as a gift he has commissioned me to create this memento for them......

October 29th 2010 016

I really love working with all mediums...but watercolour for my custom work of portraits is always so much fun....I never was a fan of watercolour until a few years ago when I started doing more and more of it.....it all started with mini paintings....like these.....

Mini-Paintings - Cubical Fine Art for any office...

and now most of my work in my custom shop is all about watercolour....and I do have a lot of original watercolours in my main shop too.....

Happy Tuesday!!!

Who is watching over your kitchen?

Saint of Kitchens San Pascual 007

1I was so thrilled when a special client contacted me about working on a custom commissioned wood and pyrography piece....She wanted the Patron Saint of Kitchens to watch over her and her kitchen....so I was thrilled to research this Saint....

His name is San Pascual ......San Pascual - is the patron Saint of  of cooks, especially New Mexican cooking, the kitchen and domestic animals ( and finding lost animals).

He was a Franciscan who happily worked in the kitchen.

Here is my rough sketch that turned into the final wood canvas....I think I need one in my kitchen too.....

I always love when people contact me to create something unique for them....
