WOYWW Birds and party hats...

Just working away on some new sketches and this little party bird popped in my head...so I had to go with the flow and just have some fun....

I am trying something new every day in 2013....I take about 10 - 15 minutes just to draw whatever pops into my head....just like people who work out and need to do some warm ups....I am starting some sketch warm ups each morning over coffee.....so join me on my journey and see all the silly things I come up with each day!!!!

Happy Mother's Day !!!!

Wishing all of you Moms out there a wonderful Mother's Day....May you share memories with your Moms and pay tribute to them if they are away....they sure do shape our world and I feel very blessed to have such an amazing Mom in my life....She is my best friend and I love all the great times we have with eachother week after week.....She is one of my biggest fans and she makes my heart smile when I see her handing out my Business cards and postcards to people that need a new Picture book....

She is one of the most amazing cooks I know and I feel so blessed to have learned from her my whole life....and keep learning from her each and every week..(even though I will never admit it lol)

We laugh and enjoy life and that is the most important lesson she has taught me....The importance of family and making and sharing amazing memories and traditions with family....She is the foundation that held our whole family together and I hope I can be a wonderful Mother like her to our children.....and I hope that I will be an amazing wife and friend....just like she is.....Thank you for everything !!!!

I thought my bird sketch for Sunday Sketches was just perfect for Mother's day as it exemplifies the way Mother's guard and take care of their children....There is nothing more beautiful than the love a Mother has for her children.....

A happy medium......I am finally happy with the outcome...

I finally found a happy medium with my latest wood and pyrography pieces...When I first started a series of these in 2009 I debated on whether or not I would paint the whole thing or leave it without paint....but I think a little bit of colour really makes these pop and leaving a lot of the wood exposed really helps to add focus to my detailed pyrography work.....so finally I am happy with the results....and I also have you to thank ....all of you that visited my burned bee post and decided that a bit of colour would be a good thing....Here is the initial bee if you missed it.....

The bee is all done...and the final piece is titled "BEE"lieve and it is now in my Etsy shop....

The second piece is titled "Love Birds" and is also for sale in my Etsy shop....

Now back to the Studio to work on more of these Happy Mediums!!!!

Happy Palm Sunday and my Sunday Sketches......

If you have been following my work lately you will notice a lot of winged creatures....all inspired by the busy birds outside my windows making nests and singing and welcoming Mother Spring....this little Sunday Sketch inspired a few pieces...

Is it Spring in your neck of the woods? or are you on the opposite end of the world where Fall is upon you....I personally love each and every Season....they all bring new inspiration and are like a fresh new start when they come for their annual visit......

The piece above is called "birds of a feather"  and the bottom one is titled....."love will bring us together"

Sweet Saturdays - Week # 003

Today it is raining here and very gloomy...so a perfect day to stay in and work on some creative projects in the Studio.....This week for Sweet Saturdays I created this piece with my new little birdies hatching....I have an umbrella mulberry tree where a Robin builds a nest and lays eggs each year so I also thought I would share a shot of the nest and eggs....seeing the Robins back again is all the inspiration I need for more Spring projects and I can't wait till we can start our gardening.

Sunday Sketches.....a cute birdy .....turned into an art print and a new digital stamp

I am so inspired these days...just opening up the door and heading outside...you feel the warm air on your face and all of the birds are singing with joy!!! I guess that could be the reason I am working on all sorts of birds these days....funny how our surroundings inspire our art from day to day....

I created this cute little birdy and thought she would make a perfect new digital stamp in my Stamp Shop on Etsy....so here she is.....

I also created a special art piece as inspired by this Spring Tweet....and wanted to show you the finished piece below.....

Love will keep us together....and one Cardinal rule....

I have been working on a more bird pieces....this one is titled "love will keep us together"

It will be sad when all the birds leave for the winter....but there are some that will stick around and look amazing against the white snow here .... like the beautiful Cardinals that will feed in our backyard and be like bright red lights against the new fallen snow....

The first piece is a mixed media piece...and the Cardinal is one of my ink and watercolour pieces....

I am submitting these to Three Muses this week....theme...things with wings...

Who says Threes a crowd?

I have no idea what it is...but birds have played a large part in my art these days...today I created this collage of birds...it is titled..."Threes a Crowd" but really...the more the merrier is what it should be titled....

This piece is so outside my regular style...so let me know what you think of this piece....I always love hearing from you.....

Two wonderful Treasuries....birds and spooky supplies.....

What a wonderful day....today I got two wonderful e-mails about being part of some Etsy Treasuries....the first one came from shop owner....Paula from Paula Art

My latest ink and watercolour.....the Paris Tweet!

Lately I have been working in the studio with several mediums...today I thought I would show you my latest cute bird....I call this the Paris Tweet two ways....I love this cute little birdy....I have him dark and light.....what do you think is better?

The darker one or the lighter piece....

Mixed Media Monday - Eggs....my piece....these little birdies "Crack" me up!

Meet the Quirky Triplets...these little babies were born in the early Spring and were hungry right out of their egg shells....so their Mommy had to work extra hard to gather up enough treats for them.....They were very happy....They had the nicest view in the whole yard...

Oh Spring...don't you just love the way it feels...the warmth...the way the sun feels on your face as you close your eyes to take it all in.....

The early blooms....the birds singing and another fresh new start...I think we all love that....

I know I do....
