Steampunk'd in Paris

I am really intrigued by the whole "steampunk" craze....it is the neatest stuff...I will be collecting some vintage hardware to start my own pieces...but in the meantime I thought we could head to Paris for a virtual steampunk trip...

"Something New" - my latest book is coming soon!!!

Hi Everyone!!! I was off-line for a few days....so when I saw the prompt I thought it was perfect for letting you know about my latest book that will be in book stores soon....

This book project was so much fun...and I can't wait to tell you more about it....

Here is the cover....and it is my something new submission to MMM this week...

I also finished my latest picture book manuscript this weekend and I will be starting the illustrations soon.....there is so much inspiration around these days and I am so enjoying it!!!

We were at the beach playing all weekend and every night we enjoyed a bon fire ...it was pure magic...

Three Muses Challenge....eyes!!!

Of all of the insects out there.....I think the Dragonflies have the coolest eyes...Their eyes are huge!! imagine flying and seeing all the great things the Dragonflies get to see...what a wonderful perspective it would be....

I am seeing so many of these amazing insects lately....and I also love the fire flies too....

The little things....that just make me smile...Custom Cupcake toppers for a Special Birthday girl....

I love creating things like cupcake toppers...and I love that people are all excited that a picture book illustrator and author made their child's cupcake toppers....the truth is I love these projects....they are so much fun to create and you know I have a thing about cupcakes...I have custom listings in my Etsy shop....and now I will be adding some topper packages with a themed centerpiece ....like this set with the mermaid.....

These custom toppers are for a special 1st Birthday party that is all about mermaids...hmmmmmmmmmm....I never did write a book about mermaids...this would be a fun one to illustrate....add that to my list of things to do.....

on another note....I will have two books coming out soon...and I can't wait to tell you all about them...so stay tuned!!!

Mixed Media Monday and Father's day all rolled into one...something old...something new...something I illustrated and something blue

boy oh boy...the weekends sure seem to fly by....Cole and I had some fun working on a project for Daddy...a cute little bee...cause he is sweet as honey....lol....

I love watching Cole create and he was so proud to add this handmade gift to Daddy's presents....he is so sweet....

I also worked on this "something old" piece for MMM this week....Thanks to Terri over at Pringle Hills Studio....I used this cute girl with writing on her mind!!!

Terri has all kinds of fun freebies you can use in art....and since I only work on new illustrations...the theme was so out of my comfort zone...so I was inspired by this special image.....with some of my butterfly illustrations and some fun backgrounds.....

My latest book is all complete!!! wow!!! what a great feeling to have all the illustrations complete!!!

Pop the champaigne...and let's celebrate!!!!..ok I will settle for a bowl of watermelon and a huge glass of water!!! hurray!!!!! so off to catch the late version of the Bachellorette and eat some watermelon!!!

Mixed Media Monday - Vintage labels...and some of my new cards!!!

This week over at MMM the theme is Vintage labels...and since all of my work is not vintage I took some components from the Graphics Fairy and Cathy Holden and worked them with my Eiffel tower and bee illustration....

I also created these fun paper cards....they are watercoloured and glittered....and in my Main Etsy Shop
