Yummy Sketch of the Day Part 3 - Carmen's Request for Chicago Style Pizza...and IF theme - "Excess"

I am adding this as my post this week for IF's theme "Excess" because if this pizza is anything it is Excessive!...the cheese alone!!!

I remember a great trip to Chicago...the Pizza was amazing to say the least....we searched locally and found a place called "Chicago Style Pizza" and we were very pleased to say the food was amazing! I even congratulated the chef that night and wrote my special review on the best pizza ever....Here is my take on that pizza but the only difference here is that this one is ZERO calories so you can enjoy a slice or two if you're really hungry...

Illustration Friday - Memories of the ZOO!

This week's theme reminded me of one of my favorite zoos....the Elmvale Zoo...It is a place we visit often when up at the cottage in Wasaga Beach. This year was the first year we took our son Cole...he loved it and was in awe at the giraffes...and all the other wonderful animals....I remember when my husband and I started going there ....when we dated...I threw a slice of banana at this monkey and accidentally squared it in the you know whats...(nuts anyone) hehehe ....I laughed so hard when this happened because the monkey was holding his privates and once he heard me laugh he mimicked my crazy laugh....Brad and I laughed and laughed ....good memories!

I did two takes on the theme this week....one take on my fond memories and a cute funny take on animals at the HUMAN zoo...lol....and I just had to add some photos of our son on his first trip to the Elmvale zoo...one with him checking out the giraffe or was the girrafe checking him out...and another with him and the pink flamingos...

First Snow ...can't wait to make a snowman!

Oh how exciting...the first snow fall of the season...I love seeing the ground turn white and I especially love it when the snow clings on everything...I hope it snows and snows so we can make our first snowmen of the season...so much fun!

Rainy Day Cat Naps...

I usually appreciate a great rain storm...time to sit back and ponder life and all it's wonder ...but today the rain makes me want to nap...I have so many projects on the go and work to complete...but nothing makes you happier than a cozy little afternoon nap...and that's where I will be heading after this post...

IF "Superstition" or in my case "Superstitions"

Hello everyone...I threw together a whole bunch of superstitions in this illustration. I mixed in the good ones with the bad ones..... Open umbrella indoors, spilt salt, new shoes on the table, black cat, friday the 13th, 4 leaf clovers, lady bug, if you swallow a watermelon seed a watermelon will grow in your tummy...oh and holding an acorn is good-luck...but she dropped hers! yikkkkkkkkkeeeeees

I had to have one too! Me as a mermaid!!!

I make these 8x8 inch mixed media canvas' and had to have one for myslef! Who doesn't want to be a mermaid?

This week has been so much fun. I have finished up some of my projects and have updated my web site and it's also the week the local paper comes out with the article about me!

Tomorrow I will start a project for a Birthday gift! I will have to keep it a secret till after the weekend.

Illustration Friday

This week's theme on IF is Scale....and I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to draw. Should I represent someone scaling a mountain, should I draw a weight scale with a funny women on it...or should I draw some fish...

well I guess the fish idea partially won....I ended up doing a quick draw of a mermaid...sitting pretty in a shell with a special pearl....may this either be a mermaid scale or a mermaid counting scales...lol...click on the thumbnail to check it out!

Well this week I get to see the newspaper article....can't wait to see what she wrote about me! or can I?

Local Newspaper to Feature me!

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I met a columnist from the local paper. She came over and asked me about my work and will be featuring me in the paper sometime next week! I am very excited to see what she writes. I also am looking at getting a group of local artists together to create an annual event to auction off themed art for charity....hope this plan works out and it becomes a huge success. I also created my take on the theme on "IF" this week, "hats". Click on the thumbnail on the left to check it out!
