Wishing my Sweetie a Happy Birthday!!!

Wishing my amazing Husband a wonderful Birthday today...He is the most supportive and sweetest man I have ever met....I thank him for letting me live my dreams each and every day and I feel blessed to share my life with him and our sweet son Cole......He taught me how to appreciate special little things around us...and I am grateful that Cole and I learn from him each and every day.....Cole and I made him a super special Birthday cake Tiramisu style for his party tonight!!! and have some more fun plans for him this weekend!!!!

Cole made a special illustration for Daddy for his Birthday...and what else would it be....but Daddy's boat....I love his work and we can't wait to celebrate today and all weekend with Daddy!!!!

January 31st 2011 - Happy Birthday to me! and OWOH .....January 31st to February 17th 2011!!!! a special way to celebrate with all of you!!!

Family and amazing friends mean the world to me...and to be able to share my Birthday with my amazing family and friends is all I ever need to fill my heart.... January 31st was my Birthday!!! and I have been celebrating all weekend and week long....little outings with friends, the loves of my life and my amazing family....and memories....

Speaking of fun memories....like my Birthday cake my Mom and Dad picked up for our special Birthday dinner Sunday....This cake is my favorite cake in the world...just the smell of it takes me back to so many of my Birthdays growing up....and to think that the same Baker at the same Bakery has been creating these for my Birthdays year after year.....really blows my mind....

Today is a milestone Birthday and I feel very blessed to have family and friends in my life that really make my life full....

I also feel very blessed to have met so many amazing blog friends...and I share my cake with all of you today also....

Thank you all for being so sweet....

For those of you that are new to my blog....my name is Diana Evans and I am a full time Illustrator and Designer....I am published in the Children's Market and love to create art each and every day....I love in Ontario, Canada and learned about art from an early age from my Dad....I followed him around as he created amazing paintings and metal sculptures....Illustrating and painting full time has been a dream of mine all my life...and finally one day about 5 years ago I had an opportunity to follow my dreams and create each and every day.....I hope to meet many new blog friends through this wonderful event.....

Mixed Media Monday - Play things and some wonderful Birthday Memories...

Here is a piece I did as inspired by this hilarious pig game that Cole got as one of his gifts....and seeing that the theme on MMM this week is "play things" I thought this piece would be perfect!!! and we played all weekend with our little munchkin who just turned 4!!!!

We celebrated three days for Cole's birthday....and in three different places....The Day started off at home...with a photo of Cole with the birthday bear I bought him when he was born...and some fun decorating by Mommy....swimming and more fun...and of course a cupcake too...here he is waking up with his Birthday bear....

First party was at my parents place...it was so much fun!!! Here he is with his Grandmother and Grandfather...my amazing parents!!!

second stop....the cottage in Huntsville...more fun and more cake...but this time Cole shared it with Daddy...as it is his Birthday on the 20th

a piggy painter I bought for Cole...we took him with us to the cottage so he could get some inspiration...and with a place like this....who wouldn't be inspired!!!

and the festivities ended at our home.....with one of my fun huge cupcake cakes...and family!!! who could ask for anything more....

and my heart melted and I realized just how blessed I am to be his Mom...

Happy 40th Birthday Ignatius - and your cake is my IF submission this week!!! theme Music

Hi Everyone....I am so excited!! today is my brother's 40th Birthday!!! He is one of the most wonderful people you could meet....he is very intelligent and would help out everyone ....I learned so much from him growing up....he was always the angel and I was the ....you know what...lol....He is very successful and one of the happiest people I know...He has the sweetest wife in the world...my wonderful sister-in-law Monika....and I am so happy that his life is so full of love......I created this cake illustration for him...it has 40 layers of cake and icing...each representing a sweet year in his life....and now for some fun photos of him!!!!

Ignatius is a world traveler...he has been everywhere and is still on the go to many wonderful and exotic places.....

He loves to come up to our cottage so he can enjoy water sports...he is a great water-skier!!! Here he is with Minnie our dog!!

Brad and I have been sledding for years and we introduced this new sport to my brother...well now he has been going for years and he is the one asking us to go....I love that he is willing to try just about everything....he loves his toys!!!

And this photo I had to add...it was our first trip to Disney world....That is my brother between Mickey and Minnie and I am standing away ....I guess even I was shy ages ago!!!

Anyway....I am submitting my cake to IF this week....the theme is music ....and my brother has always been able to play any instrument by ear....and he always blew me away with his skills as a musician....heck he blows me aways with everything he does....he is AMAZING and we love him with all our hearts!!!

and the cake is my submission....because what is a Birthday cake without a good Happy Birthday song!!! and Birthday cake...especially a 40 layer one is MUSIC TO MY EARS!!!

sorry I have been MIA...but I am working away on some more baking for Cole's second party of the week...yes I know....I spoil that cute little munchkin...but he is so worth it and his cute smile and hugs make me melt....I am taking in every single moment we have to spend with each other....he is the greatest gift I have ever received!!! What a wonderful Birthday and my submission to MMM this week...theme "Play"

Hi Everyone....
I am submitting some wonderful animals from the zoo....I so love it when Animals get to play and have some fun....Mixed Media Monday's theme this week is "Play"....and speaking of play....
what a wonderful weekend!!! It sure was all about "playing" this weekend...as our son Cole celebrated with some of his friends....and to see some of the treats I made you can check out this.....We get to celebrate on his actual Birthday this Wednesday with family...so I will be creating some more treats!!!

Happy Birthday to My Dad!!! He is one of the greatest Dad's ever!!!

Hi Everyone...today is my Dad's Birthday!!! We will be celebrating and enjoying family time...he is one of the greatest Dad's ever...he is one of the big reason's I got into art and painted as a child...the inpsiration for why I paint with our son Cole...It meant the world to me when we used to create together...just me and my Dad!!! and I can only hope that I am as big a part in Cole's life as my Parents are in mine....we are all best friends and spend as much time as possible together....I am so grateful for each and every moment we share....I wish you could all meet my Dad...and my Mom...they would feed you and make you all kinds of treats....they are the sweetest people I know....

My Dad was also an avid Bee keeper...one of the reason's I started the Bees for a Cause initiative....I was inpsired by him....I can't wait to tell him that we managed to raise enough money in our first few days to purchase 2 hives, 2 boxes of bees and training for deserving families.....I also got him a special print to remember this cause...and baked him this cake ....I can't wait to bring it to the party!!!

Illustration Friday and Happy Birthday to me!!!

Hi Everyone...

what a week...I had a flawed week when my laptop blew up...but I am back up and running now and everything is fab...

Today is my birthday and I am having a wonderful day already...

The first piece is my submission for Illustration Friday this week,....the theme is "Flawed" and even though everyone thought the ring was flawed...the carbon heart meant the world to Amy....

Today I have been busy getting ready for a little Birthday Party I am hosting for my Father-in-Law...I have been baking and making all kinds of goodies...Cole was even helping Mommy out ...you can see him sweeping the floor in one of the shots in this post...he is so cute...and such a sweetie for wanting to help out...

The best was his eyes when I opened a gift from Fannie...as soon as he saw it was chocolates...his eyes lit up like big dinner plates...Thanks Fannie...you're so sweet...we will be saving these for our special family day Sunday...just the three of us...yumm!!
