Elvis was my Father-in-Laws favorite singer.....so I want to dedicate this to my late Father-in-Law....

Day 22 of 365...

Hi Everyone....

It was the most amazing day here...27degrees and sunny...so most of the day was spent outside getting all the stuff ready for gardening....

We also planted a special lilac tree in our yard in honor of Brad's Dad who passed away....

I took a little break to create Amy...she loves to wear flowers in her hair....

Day 21 of 365 Day Creative Exercise...yeah that's right...

Hi Everyone...

wow...day 21 has come and gone and I am thinking to just keep going and see if I can do a 365 day creative exercise...I figure I do something creative each and everyday and now I just can't stop...

today's post is a tribute to our weekly bon fires....we have our friends over and we enjoy a nice dinner and then a nice evening by the fire...

and you know what comes hand in hand with a bon fire...S'MORES! we ate a bunch last night and they were delish....thanks for bringing over enough marshmallows for the whole summer Carmen! I did this s'more in pen and ink and then added some digital colouring....I am posting this for the theme pens/pencils on Mixed Media Monday...since that is how this illustration started.....

I took some really cool shots of the fire too...I not only love to draw each and every day...but I am known for being attached to my camera....

Day 20 of 21 Day Creative Exercise...a quickie...IF - theme " Worry"

Today's illustration is a quickie as I had to finish off a bunch of Wedding invites ....

I took about 5 minutes to draw on the corner of my sketch book and then another 5 to add some vivid watercolour....and I never even had time for it to dry....It is titled...

"Not a worry in the World"A day at the beach...

I'm Back...Day 19 of 21 Day Creative Exercise...

Hi Everyone...

The Funeral was yesterday and it was one of the hardest days ever....I wrote the Eulogy for my Father-in-Law and could barely read it at the service...

It was a nice and sunny day...just like Dad would have wanted....

Today was my first day with colour in a while...I took one of my illustrations from last week and watercoloured it....

Getting Ready for our Final Good-byes....Day 18 of 21 Day Creative Exercise...

Hi Everyone...

thank you so much for all your kindness ....you have all touched our hearts with your messages and special thoughts....

We are busy getting ready for our final Good byes and today I made a special heart for Grandpa from Cole...this heart will sit in his casket. I drew the big butterfly and watercoloured it....the 2 little butterflies...at first I only added one...my thoughts were that the big one is Dad and the small one is Cole...but in case we have more children I had to add another one...the photo is of Cole and his Grandpa ( I decoupaged it to the wooden heart).......Dad sure loved seeing Cole and playing with him....we will miss him dearly and always talk about him and his special presence now....our son is lucky to have 2 special Guardian Angels looking out for him....

Again thank you from our hearts and I will be back once things settle down...

Last Drawing in the ICU - Farewell Dearest Father-in-Law....

It is with great sadness that I post my last drawing in the ICU...My Father-in-Law fought as long and hard as he could...but today at 6pm he passed away....

We were all with him and by his side during it all...we love him dearly and he will be greatly missed.....

I started this illustration in the ICU waiting room...it was Cole asking Dad's Guardian Angel for help...

We know that he is in a better place now and not suffering anymore...we also feel that he is with us in all we do and will always think of you dear Dad...

May you pray for us in Heaven and watch over us...

Drawing in the ICU - Day 17 of 21 Day Creative Exercise....

Hi Everyone....

I am very sad to say that there have been no improvements with my Father-in-Law...I keep hoping and praying that one morning things will all turn around....he is in very critical condition and I am very afraid of what the future will bring for him...

I am with him and while I wait in the ICU I draw to take my mind off of things....today's sketch is of 2 children playing at the beach...another one of my fond memories....

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers...your messages bring me some comfort in a very hectic time....

Drawing in the ICU....Day 16 of 21 Day Creative Exercise

Hi Everyone...

Still at the hospital hoping for a miracle...here is my sketch for day 16...I was inspired by warm and cozy thoughts of our family camp outs when I was a wee little girl.....

we would roast marshmallows and sit by the bon fire all night...great times...I just looked at the Arty Girlz Challenge for this week and the theme is "Travel Places" what a coincidence...so I added it there too...

these memories and my sketch book have been helping me through these days...I pray each day that a miracle will happen....

I will colour these in the near future and re-post them....

Drawing in the ICU....Day 15 of 21 Day Creative Exercise

Hi Everyone...

thank you for all your prayers and encouragement for me and my family. My Father-in-Law is still in very critical condition and we hope and pray that things get better soon....

I have to admit that my sketch book is with me at all times...so I sketch while we wait in the ICU waiting room....it has really helped me out....

Today is day 15 of my 21 Day creative exercise and I created this illustration....I hope to colour it and re-post it ....

Drawing in the ICU...Day 14 of 21 Day Creative Exercise...Illustration Friday " Electricity"

Hi Everyone...

We are in the ICU around the clock waiting to see some changes with my Father-in-Law...I am so thankful for all of you that have popped by to leave me all the kind messages and thoughts....I truly appreciate it....

I have been drawing in the ICU waiting room...and happen to log in to see what the theme on IF is this week...the theme is "Electricity" and here is my take...

this piece is titled...

"He was powerless without her"...to be honest I feel so powerless in our family crisis right now....

I am sorry for not being able to pop by and say hello...but I promise I will once I get some more time....

Day 11 of 21 Day Creative Exercise...Cute Card Thursday..

Hi Everyone...

We have a family emergency today so I am not able to do too much on here...

I did spend the morning making some 3D bling bling cards...one for a Birthday and 2 for Mother's Day.... I am also adding these to Cute Card Thursday as the theme is Gems and Jewels...and my beaded bling should fit right in....

I started an illustration last night that I am pretty thrilled with...

If I have a chance to finish it I will post it tomorrow...

Day 10 of 21 Day Creative Exercise - creating some new jewelry and baking ...yumm!

Hi Everyone...

Today I spent my creative time focusing on some new Wrist Candy for my shop...You can have a better look by clicking on each bracelet...

I also baked some cupcakes with our son Cole...and he sure loved icing them and ofcourse eating them....

I also had to do a little illustration for this exercise...so I painted a mini watercolour strawberry for you all to enjoy....

Day 9 of 21 Day Creative Exercise - Arty Girls Challenge and some fun ...

Hi Everyone...

Thanks for popping by...Today's theme on the Arty Girlz Challenge blog is "3D" so I created a freehand cut out of a tree...then used Foam tape to give it dimension...I did it all in white to get the full focus on the 3D effect....

I also did a quick ink sketch of a tree with some love birds...

I also added a wonderful ATC that I got in the mail from Lisa Griffin...what a pleasant surprise that was...You have to pop by her blog to check out her amazing art...I pop by daily to see all the wonderful things she creates....

Day 8 of 21 Day Creative Exercise - creating while I cook...yumm!

Hi Everyone...

I made you a special cup of coffee or tea...so we can visit...

Hard to believe it is day 8 of my creative journey with this exercise...what a fun it has been each and every day....

Today I felt like making a homemade pizza from scratch (had to post some photos...you know me and food...lol) so while it was baking Cole and I painted ...I had a lot of fun with these...I especially have a love for giraffes...ever since we took our son to the Zoo last summer and he was so excited to see the "big" giraffe....what a great time

I love homemade pizza...

anything baking with a bread base smells pretty good!

Day 7 of 21 Day Creative Exercise...Another fun Breakfast with Friends and some art that is perfect for Mixed Media Monday's Theme...

Hi Everyone...

What a wonderful Sunday...we spent the early part of the day with all our friends and our new found tradition of the Big Breakfast Gathering...

We enjoyed the wonderful weather and played outdoors....it was a wonderful time with many laughs and memories....

Later on I had some fun with my new found love for mini-watercolour paintings....

Now I am working on some Wedding invitations for my wonderful brother and my sister-in-law to be...what fun!

Today is day 7 of my 21 day Creative Exercise and I thought about shoes all day...heheheh...

Day 6 of 21 Day Creative Exercise - A Class and a chance to finish some watercolours...

Hi Everyone...Day 6 turned out to be a wonderful creative and inspiring day. My friends and I spent a few hours taking a card making course...

There is this wonderful shop in downtown Dundas called Angela's Paper Crafts

The shop has all kinds of fun stuff...I picked up a bunch of cool new tools and more sparkly 3d paint and 3d embossing paste....I am planning on making my own stencils for this paste...and I hope to post some stuff this coming week.

It was a lot of fun and there were so many wonderful people at this class. We all laughed and I actually also picked up a wonderful ATC from a local artist. We traded...she loved my turtle ATC....

Well I also managed to finish some watercolours from a few days ago...what fun! I think this girl will need some dimensional work...

Day 4 of 21 Day Creative Exercise - stolen moments for some portable illustrations...

Hi Everyone....

thanks for popping in and saying hello! Today was a busy and fun day out with Cole and my Mom...

We went on a shopping spree and then had a wonderful lunch together....

I take my little cut ups of watercolour paper everywhere now...so whenever I have a few minutes I sketch out a new piece...I love this 21 day Exercise and think it may turn into a 365 day exercise...lol
I didn't have any time to watercolour these yet...so I will take a break later with a nice cup of tea and add some life to these ....
I also had to post a shot of the cool trims I picked up that will be on special cards...what fun! I have to make some Mother's Day cards and some Birthday cards this weekend....
