See what I will be working on all week.....
I have an art show coming up this week...so I had to work on some of my Spun Cotton Dolls to add to the mix....I love these dolls...whether they are used as ornaments or decorations propped up around the house...they sure make me smile....so here is one I started working on today.....she is inspired by an angel.....I just glittered her wings and her halo and will add the final touches to her once this dries.....I create these every year ....it is a little tradition for the Holidays.....
Then I will be off to create my next one....I am trying to make one or two a day ....wish me luck!!!! These will be my Art Everyday Submissions this week.....Pop back tomorrow to see her all complete and meet the next one!!!
Happy Monday and Happy Creating!!!!

Taking a drawing and turning it into a product.....
I love to draw up a lot of the stuff that becomes a 3d object....it is so much fun to see it on paper and then see it live....here are some snowman ornaments that I worked on for Christmas 2010....I have a thing for creating snowmen every year...so this cute one is the signature piece for 2010.....I would love to create keepsake ornaments for shops like Hallmark....
who knows maybe I will have a whole Annual line one of these years....it would be a dream come true.....
Next time you head out for some Holiday shopping look at all the cool things people created as an illustration before it ever became a product....everything out there was on paper at one time....a little seed of an idea...that either got approved and was mass produced or special art pieces that only had a limited run....either way I bet you have somethings special that was drawn up in the minds of some really neat Illustrators.....Technically....it is called Product Development.....and it is so much fun!!!!
I love drawing each and every day.....
Happy Creating!!!!

My latest snowmen...hope you like them!!! and Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends in the USA!

Hi Everyone....
I just created a new project and you guessed it....it's all about snowmen!!!
I was listening to the radio station last year and a lady came on and spoke about her family and their wonderful Christmas traditions....she went on the say that when they got married 35+ years ago they didn't have any money...but they managed to get their first Christmas tree anyway.... and after that year they cut a piece from the bottom of that tree and created an ornament for next year with it....
They did this each and every year....
hearing this story made me cry and really touched my heart. Last year when I was in the paper as the "Green Artist" I thought about this and was so inspired to do something ( my heart is so sad when all the trees are tossed)....so after Christmas when all the trees ended up at the curb, my husband and his friend drove around and picked up some stumps for me and my project....I wanted to make special ornaments from these trees....so that they would mean more then just one Christmas...one tree....that they would be around for years to come....so this is what I decided to do.....
The instructions for this snowman ornament are on Daily Art Stop ...so I hope you make some in the coming years from your trees....and share in new traditions that will make each season even brighter.....
Hugs
