New Custom Piece....Cottage Art ....the Moose.....

Hi Everyone....I have been a busy little bee working on all kinds of fun custom work....today I am sharing with you a piece I did on a slice of wood...this is a moose that will be heading to a cottage up North....it is done with my pyrography tools and is in a rustic style....This is my Sunday Sketch piece...if it's ok that I sketched with a wood burning tool.......

Well I am taking the day off to enjoy some time with family.....so back to the Studio bright and early tomorrow!!!

Nothing like the scent of wood burning....I think this is why I love working with this medium....

I haven't used my pyrography tools in ages...but this weekend I did take them out and enjoy an afternoon of burning some new wooden canvas pieces....I created this new series using my signature colours....









The first is titled...."time for a latte"
the second is titled...."think sweet thoughts"
and the last one is titled...."time for a cupcake"

I did some photo shoots with the pieces too...it was fun to create them....

Theme Thursday - Miniature Art

Hi Everyone...

The theme this week on Theme Thursday is "Miniature" and I just finished a piece I worked on that is miniature for me...I usually create my wood and pyrography pieces on large wooden canvases....so this is as miniature as I get with these wood burned art pieces....

Spring has inspired me to create some floral pieces as you may have noticed this week....
and so you get a sense of the small size I took a photo from a past piece ...the larger one...and my latest piece with Cole....he is so sweet!!! and so supportive of my art....

Finally got to use my tool....my wood burned Mermaid Miranda...

I finally got to try out my new tool on a special wooden box....I made a mermaid and burnt the design into the wood...

On the weekend I think I might try to do some colour wash over it to experiment further...

Deadlines ...but I can't wait to use my new tool...

My last week in a nutshell...Designed 50 new cards for an on-line store, finished all the illustrations for a Publisher in BC, started working on my 2008 Business Plan and have a few more deadlines to meet...

In the mean time I stare at this wonderful and thoughtful gift from my Husband...my Hotmarks tool...it has so many cool features....but I am waiting to try it out once I finish all of my work...and can focus and enjoy it....

Can't wait to figure out all the cool things I can make with this tool...

Well it's late and I met another deadline so HURRAY!!!
