Paint Party Friday....celebrating scrumptious sights

Hi Everyone.....

we are picking our tomatoes and enjoying all kinds of wonderful things from our garden...so in light of all the yummy goodness I am sharing some watercolour,  ink and acrylic pieces with you all for Paint Party Friday this week....We had the greatest Summer ever and things are slowly but surely back into the swing of things around here.....and pretty soon we will all be inspired by the knock of Autumn on our doors....and I can't wait....I love each and every Season....they all bring with them a freshness and beauty in their own ways....So bring it on....I am ready for all the splendor of Fall.....

Some fruits of our Labor.....

Hi Everyone....we are busy picking and enjoying plenty of yummy treats from our vegetable garden....the one reason I love summer is having a garden.....watching it grow and enjoying all of the goodness that it brings....
I am making a super yummy tomatoe salad tonight using some tomatoes, oil, vinegar, garlic and chopped basil.....super fresh and super easy....

and we just love basil and garlic and tomatoes....yummmy!!!

Just trimmed my boxwood garden.....

As many of you know, I am in love with gardening....from my flower gardens to my vegetable garden to my boxwood garden....so I am happy to report that I just trimmed up my boxwood garden....this garden is special to me....we put it in on our 3rd Anniversary.....every year we try to do something special that we can enjoy for years to come...I do all the trimming and my sweet husband vacuums up all of the trimmed pieces....he is a sweetheart! I also have two teddy bear topiaries that I just trimmed up and they are as cute as can be!!!

I am off to get some work done....hope you all have a super amazing day and Happy Memorial Day to all of my American friends in blogland!

I just love gardening!!!! Come visit the garden with us!!!

What a wonderful year for gardening!!! I have two amazing helpers in my gardens and we all have so much fun working and enjoying the fruits of our labor!!!!

Happy 4th Birthday Cole!!! You are amazing my sweet little Pumpkin Pie!!!

Today is Cole's 4th Birthday!!! He is such a wonderful child...he is the reason I get inspired to work each and everyday on my picture books and my projects. He changed my life in so many wonderful ways and I am ever so grateful to be his Mommy!!!

He is my biggest fan and I love it when he says things like..."When you come back, I'm going to give you a big hug and a kiss."

He makes my heart grow each and every day and seeing him grow up is truly a wonderful gift...and I am so blessed to have him as my little boy!!!

The next few days will be all about Cole so I promise to visit you all when I get a chance...we have so many fun things we need to do....and I will have plenty of photos to tell you all about them!!!!

The fruits of our labour....

Hi Everyone....we picked up some yummy treats from our vegetable garden...I had no idea everything would be so huge within a few days....the weather has been perfect for zucchini and cauliflower....then we cooked up some yummy food ...a recipe for zucchini that you should all try is here.....and I also made some yummy chocolate zucchini cupcakes...(gotta sneak in all the vegetables I can into treats for Cole) he loved eating the food we picked....

Come to my garden...and watch it grow!

Hi Everyone.... Like art I also find that gardening feed my soul ....I love taking photos every week so I can see how things are growing...like these two shots...just a week and everything is much bigger....

My lavendar row is my favorite part of this garden...it comes up every year and the smell as I work is amazing....like I am in France in a field of lavendar...maybe that's why I have great dreams when I sleep.....

I also cook with a lot of herbs...and have a whole row dedicated to my culinary herbs....yumm! I grow Italian Parsley, Rosemary, Purple Basil, Columnar Basil, Lemon Thyme and Coriander or better known as Cilantrio....

and pretty soon....if the warm sun keeps on shining we will be eating our tomatoes....I can't wait!

have you ever cooked things stuffed in zuchini blossoms?? yumm!!!!

and my special little helper makes every visit to the vegetable garden even more wonderful...Cole was the inspiration for the latest book I am working on....I can't wait to show you some more about my book!!!

oh and this year I am trying out some new plants....brussel sprouts...I can't wait to try these from the garden...

Weekend Food and Fun!!!

Hi Everyone....I hope you're all having a lovely weekend....we are enjoying family time, bbqs and gardening....what fun....Minnie here wishes you all a happy weekend too...Cole and Minnie are always running around and enjoy anywhere from 8-10 hours of outside fun.....

Here is Cole helping me with our vegetable garden...he loves to water it and eat all the herbs....basil is his favorite....

It doesn't look like much now....but eventually this will be perfection in our tummies....

Weeding, Weeding...Gone....

Hi Everyone....

I haven't had the chance to finish off some of my illustrations because I have been outside weeding all of our gardens....

I am happy to say that we finished weeding the front garden, the vegetable garden and I managed to trim my box wood garden...

Brad built Cole his own sand box since we could barely get him to leave the beach...

my yummy vegetable garden ...we are eating all kinds of yummy lettuces and baby greens these days...I can't wait till we can eat some yummy peppers and tomatoes...with basil...

Minnie always keeps me company when I work in the garden...she is so sweet.....

and I love the lavendar...as I work I can smell it and it is relaxing....

I will be working on my give aways this weekend!!!
