Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

It is finally here....and we are having a wonderful time celebrating the Birth of Jesus....Last night we went to Christmas Eve Mass and our son played Joseph in the Nativity....it was so touching and sweet and I swear my heart grew three sizes just watching this...

I hope you all know how Thankful I am to have you here visiting me on a regular basis...your friendship and kindness have filled my life with much joy!

I hope that life brings you all the wishes and hopes fulfilled that your heart desires and I wish you all peace and health and happiness always!

Hello Everyone....so great to be back from a very amazing weekend with my Loves...as many of you know...I am a true lover of New York City.....and this time of year is so amazing there....so much to see and get inspired by....we have so many wonderful stories to share and so many great photos of all of the Holiday scenes.....we ate our way through the city....so much great food....and now so many great Memories...I never ever get tired of heading to New York during Christmas.....

The best part of all...seeing all of the windows all decked out...and the gorgeous trees...I will be blogging about these adventures and also about our fun with our little Elf Buddy....we were lucky enough to get Santa's approval to bring him to the big apple...

As you can see from these fun photos we took he loved New York too!!!!  Wishing you all a wonderful start to the week....I am inspired to create some new art this week!!! hope you pop by every day to say hello and see what we are up to!!!!

Time for a break.....

Hi Everyone!!!!

Hope you had a wonderful Holiday with your Family and Friends.....We enjoyed an extended long weekend of festivities and fun with our Families and Friends.....now I am a bit run down from all of the rushing around and fun.....so I am keeping my pyjamas on all day and doing nothing!!! sounds pretty good doesn't it....we have all indulged and enjoyed all kinds of yummy treats this Holiday too.....so now it is time to just relax and get back into the swing of things.....

Today I think I will do something.....I have a date with my sketchbook that I have ignored for a few days....we have a lot to catch up on!!!!

Sharing some fun for Sweet Saturdays!!!

This week I thought I would share some of the sweet things we have been doing as we get in gear for the Holiday Season....


We have been working on all sorts of fun Holiday Ornaments....you can check out our Cupcake Tutorial here and our Cookie Cutter Ornament tutorial here...

We also attended our Annual Light up night and it was so much fun....we love seeing the light show and walking and drinking cocoa....and ending the night with a stop at Jone's Bakery....yummy! and we were lucky enough to see Santa twice this week....once at the Light up night with Mrs. Claus and again yesterday.....and here is a montage of photos to share for Sweet Saturdays....we sure had a blast!!!!

Starting to get the Decorations up....and some new wooden projects on the go.....

Hello Everyone!!!

Happy Thursday.....I am so busy this week that I wish I had more days before the weekend....but I am happy that the sun is shining and I am working away like a busy bee.....Today I thought I would show you some of my Holiday Decor that is coming to life .....I created two gorgeous huge urns that flank our front doors into our home.....I used all of the stuff around our garden to create these and they turned out exactly as I had hoped....

I also created these wooden hearts that will be burned with designs for special ornaments this year....I will update you right here on my blog once I get these started.....

Well off to work away for the Art Show this weekend....so I wish you a wonderful and Creative Day!!!

I finished my reindeer piece....what do you think?

Happy Monday Everyone.....

I have always been a huge fan of the cute reindeer....so when I created the initial sketch yesterday you can see here....I spent some time colouring them in till they made me happy....so here is the finished piece....What do you think? I think I may use this piece on some Holiday Cards .....just add some sparkle like my favorite Stickles from Ranger Ink.....they can add so much to any piece and I love sparkle during the Holidays......I have used many of the colours....but I love the Diamond one and the traditional Gold and Silver ones...I find that the Diamond one is perfect to add sparkle and keep the colour of your piece....so go ahead and glitter something today......

I have 11 more paintings to complete this week....so as I finish my trip to Virtual Paris in these paintings I will post them on my blog.....

It's beginning to look a lot like.........

Happy Sunday Everyone.....

I was sitting with our son the other day and he asked me why we haven't started decorating for Christmas....I told him it was early.....and not to worry ....we will be decorating before you know it.....It is so sweet how my love of the Holidays has rubbed off on this wee little man.....he really makes me love the Holidays even more....so great to have someone around with the same love for the holidays as me....

You see....I love love love Christmas time.....it is my favorite time of year...
Spending time with Family ,decorating , Listening to Christmas songs on the radio, baking treats ...it is never too early for me....I love everything about it....

So this week....our son inspired me to start thinking about the Holidays and this illustration came to life....It is my Sunday Sketch submission this week.....so join in and share some of your work with Sophia and her Sunday Sketches weekly link up......

I am off to enjoy a Family Breakfast......then a blog hop......and finally back in the Studio tonight to colour this piece and create a few snowmen!!! This whole turn the clock back thing makes me think I got up way too early for a Sunday....lol.....but gaining an hour is always a good thing!!!

Christmas here in the Studio....as a Designer and Illustrator we are always working ahead of schedule...so here are my latest cupcake toppers for the Holidays...Handmade for your Holiday parties.....they will be in  shop soon!!!

oh and if you're planning on getting someone special a custom watercolour you should think about ordering one soon...so you can get it in time for framing and the holidays....

I always wondered where baby snowmen came from.....Illustration Friday - Hatched.....

Hi Everyone....meet Peppermint....he was just hatched and is ready to enjoy some wonderful company....He is the perfect friend and is watching red Bird's cute nest while bunny sits with him.....

Peppermint is also craving some snow cones so he will send bunny out to get a few for everyone....do you want to share a snow cone? What flavour would you like?

CAC - Dance with me....

Custom Cupcake Ornaments - Handmade wooden pieces with Pyrography details....adding this to Inspire me Thursday....

Hi Everyone....I am so happy to have all the decorations up!!! I also started creating my custom ornaments for 2009....every year I release a new set of ornament ideas that are custom and can be inscribed on the back to make it an extra special reminder of another wonderful Holiday....

This year I create a new custom cupcake ornament that is created with wood and pyrography...I love the way they look with all their details....I am offering these for a limited time in my Custom Etsy Shop....You can have names and dates burned onto the back of each ornament to have a special memento for this Christmas.....

Theme Thursday - Christmas Holiday Creations - my new paper city scape on the mantle....

Hi Everyone....I started my Holiday decorations this week...and I usually go all out with the totally traditional reds and greens...but this year I decided to do everything a little different...so since I'm dreaming of a White Christmas I decided to go all white and crisp this year...

The first thing I tested was my mantle...It all started with some feathers and pearl berries....and then today I thought a cool white village would look neat....As I moved some of my art from the mantle I decided to create a cityscape instead of a bunch of houses...and this is what I did....

I took white and black card stock and bent a thin edge on each side first. Then folded 4 interior blocks exact in size minus the thin edges that will re-enforce the forms...I then glued these together with double sided tape....cut them to make some varying heights and then embellished them.....

to embellish I added windows using stickles...glitter glue...and these are so pretty at night....tomorrow I will add some lights behind the feather snow scape and it will come to life even more....

I even added my statue of Liberty .....so even though I love living out in wonderful spacious land...I still enjoy the city...and this scene reminds me of New York at Christmas....

I wish these would turn out like they look in real life...the little city scape is so so cute and these photos just don't do it justice....I am submitting these to Theme Thursday....the theme this week is Christmas Holiday Creations and this is what I worked on and wanted to share with you....
