Making our Gingerbread House........what a great time!!!

Hi Everyone....what a wonderful day.....Every year we make a Gingerbread house and this year we made a huge house that is filled with candy!!! Cole was so excited when he came home after school to see a kitchen full of gingerbread, icing and candy.....so we had the greatest time listening to Christmas Music and decorating our 2011 Gingerbread House.....

We have so many laughs and fun when we do this each year....so for fun I thought I would also share a little montage of past years.....so here they are.....we even used our sign, snowman and Santa candy from last years project in our 2011 piece.....

Happy Tuesday Everyone and Happy Creating!!!!

Sunday Sketches and Getting into the Holiday Spirit....I love this time of year!!!!

Hi Everyone!!!!

What a wonderful week it has been and what a super fun filled weekend....We finished all of our lights outside and enjoyed light up night this past Thursday....and Saturday night we listened to Christmas music, ate treats and started decorating in our home....
I am all about adding my favorite new colour to the scene this year...this lime celadon green just makes me so happy.....and I always love white and black....so this year I had so much fun with my additional green decorations.....

I even had my special Holiday oil burning that smells like candy canes...it was warm cozy and amazing.....so this week for my Sunday Sketches I have Christmas trees as inspired by our decorating and fun!

I hope you pop by Sophia's blog for Sunday Sketches and see what all of our friends have been up to ....

Happy Sunday and Happy Creating!!!!

A few days of Spring Cleaning and redecorating with my new found love....this specatacular green....

Spring colours INSPIRATION
Here is a piece I just created that is inspired by my new Spring colour pallet....this Green just makes me think of warmer days and makes me smile...

It all started one day when I picked up a new table runner for my kitchen....this is a floral cut out embroidered table runner in shades of green and some white daisies....I just fell in love with it....

I will be updating the drapery in our dining room and adding some more accents with this super special fabric I just picked up....It adds some more tropical fun to our Dining Room.....it has all of the colours in it...from this fun green to the orange and reds in the room....can't wait to have everything done!!!!

The beauty of all of these updates is they were very simple...and can be changed out with each new season and each new mood I get.....with a small budget.....I had so much fun with these new projects...Now I have to create a huge focal painting for the Grand Room that will fit with these colour changes....will keep you posted on that piece as I move back into the Studio to get to work....

Happy Creating Everyone!!!

Theme Thursday - Christmas Holiday Creations - my new paper city scape on the mantle....

Hi Everyone....I started my Holiday decorations this week...and I usually go all out with the totally traditional reds and greens...but this year I decided to do everything a little different...so since I'm dreaming of a White Christmas I decided to go all white and crisp this year...

The first thing I tested was my mantle...It all started with some feathers and pearl berries....and then today I thought a cool white village would look neat....As I moved some of my art from the mantle I decided to create a cityscape instead of a bunch of houses...and this is what I did....
I took white and black card stock and bent a thin edge on each side first. Then folded 4 interior blocks exact in size minus the thin edges that will re-enforce the forms...I then glued these together with double sided tape....cut them to make some varying heights and then embellished them.....

to embellish I added windows using stickles...glitter glue...and these are so pretty at night....tomorrow I will add some lights behind the feather snow scape and it will come to life even more....
I even added my statue of Liberty .....so even though I love living out in wonderful spacious land...I still enjoy the city...and this scene reminds me of New York at Christmas....
I wish these would turn out like they look in real life...the little city scape is so so cute and these photos just don't do it justice....I am submitting these to Theme Thursday....the theme this week is Christmas Holiday Creations and this is what I worked on and wanted to share with you....
Sending Warmest Wishes to all of my wonderful friends in the United States as they celebrate Thanksgiving!!! Happy Thanksgiving Friends!!!!
Happy Thursday!!!
Hugs
Diana
