Thanksgiving weekend @ the cottage....the leaves!!! amazing!!!

We had our Family join us at our cottage this past weekend for Thanksgiving and the scenery was truly spectacular!!!! I find that Autumn is the most wonderful Season filled with God's personal paintings and when winter comes he starts a new canvas!!!

Hope you enjoy these amazing photos ...yet I don't think they can do any justice to seeing them in person!!! What a wonderful world we live in....

I am leaving you today with one challenge.....to spend the next week seeing everything through your eyes as though you were a child....like everything is new again and I know you will see so much more in your daily lives!!!!

A long weekend filled with Autumnal inspiration....Happiness!!!! 10 Minute Warm Up....

Hello Everyone....

I am a busy busy busy bee getting 39 ...you heard me...39 entries into the Fall Fair!!! what a rush it is getting all this stuff completed....I am really enjoying my time creating art, crafts and baking....but I may have went overboard!!! I hope I can get everything ready for tomorrow!!! in the mean time....I am sharing some amazing scenes from my long weekend with the loves of my life....it was gorgeous and so inspiring.....sharing these photos as my 10 Minute Warm up today.....

Sharing some photos we took while we enjoyed the Autumn Air.....We love this time of year!

We enjoyed some after school outdoor fun ......and are taking in all of the wonder around us.....There is so much to see this time of year.....all of our gardens are at their best.....and they are giving us one last encore performance before the final curtain call when Mr. Frost will visit us.....

So much colour and so much we are Thankful for....I am enjoying every single moment ......

This week my Sweet Saturday will be spent with my boys in search of Autumn Colours...so I will be sure to have a ton of photos to share with you after our journey!!! In the mean time I share this photos of some amazing leaves...all in colour for Autumn....one of my favorite Seasons!!!

Paint Party Friday.....whooooooooo whoooooooo......

As many of you know I love so many things.....and owls are one of the animals that have always touched my heart....once when I was growing up my Dad and I found an injured owl on the side of the road near an escarpment so we took it home and fed it and waited till it's wing got all better....it was amazing...it sat in our garage on my dad's anvil and we bought it all kinds of raw treats....we fed it liver and it was one happy camper.....it turned its head whenever we opened the door....it was an amazing experience...one that I will never forget...We fed it and cared for the little guy till he was ready for flight and then we let him go.....he was amazing...beautiful...and a reminder that we all need to respect wildlife all around us.....

so to the Owls out there....here is a little piece I created.....it is my submission to Paint Party Friday this week.....

Tomorrow this design will be turned into an owl paper doll...so pop back for Sweet Saturdays right here at my blog and share some of your sweet art, sweet photos, anything that you find sweet....

Today we bid Summer Good Bye....and Autumn kissed it good bye too...with some red leaves and hints of colours changing ( I think Autumn wore some red lipstick!!!)

I love this time of year...and can't wait to visit all the Fairs, pick apples, see a big pumpkin patch, and enjoy the colours.....

Sunday Sketches and Sunday Postcard....Autumn is in the Air

I love this time of year....Autumn is the culmination of all the hard work we put in to grow wonderful things....the fruits of our labor...so to speak...so this also symbolizes all the work I have done this year with respect to my illustrations and my published work....It is time to celebrate and enjoy the colours and changes ahead! I purposely only posted the ink sketches....a juxtaposition on all the Autumnal colours out there right now...and today I plan on heading to see some of that colour...and some of the pumpkins that are harvested....

Autumn is a great time...what a wonderful collection this turned out to be!

I just got a note from the shop owner of isewcute, a sweet shop filled with Embroidery Patterns and Very Cute Resin Jewelry.

She curated this wonderful Autumnal collection and titled it
"Autumn is a Great Time to Take a Walk in the Woods"

She was sweet enough to also include one of my spool dolls...Hoot the Wise old Owl!

Bye Bye Summer....Hello Autumn!

I am a huge fan of summer and all the fun it brings....but Autumn is all about warm colours and everything is at it's best!!! so I am a really big fan of Autumn...

I am submitting this piece to Theme Thursday....since the theme is Autumn!

Happy Thursday!!! one more sleep before Cole starts his first day of school!!! first day ever!!! I am so proud of him!!! Thankfully Friday he only goes for a few hours...then next week!!! he will start some full days!!! I am more worried about missing him than he is....I will try to be strong!!!

My Calendar Boy and some Autumnal Splendor....

Hi Everyone....

For the last two years I carved out a pumpkin for Cole ....his first photo was submitted in a contest last year!

Cole won and was our calendar boy for the month of October....this year in 2008!!!

He is so sweet.....

Then the second year, 2007 I got a bigger pumpkin for him to get into...

Wish me luck finding a bigger pumpkin for this year!!!!

I love Fall and the colours you see each and every day...

It is as though God is painting and waiting for us to notice his masterpieces....
