Hi Everyone....This week's challenge over at the Three Muses Blog was a lot of fun...first I had to pick a quote and then I had to be inspired by it....so here is my quote....
"There is only one success--to be able to spend your life in your own way."
Christopher Morley
I think this really made me think about life and success and what it means to me...One of the greatest successes for me was and is becoming a Mom...I think Motherhood was a pivotal point in my life where I started to weigh out things and really focus on what is important for me and my family....It also made me think about what my life means and would be left behind in this world ...so that people would know I was here.....
"There is only one success--to be able to spend your life in your own way."

I think this really made me think about life and success and what it means to me...One of the greatest successes for me was and is becoming a Mom...I think Motherhood was a pivotal point in my life where I started to weigh out things and really focus on what is important for me and my family....It also made me think about what my life means and would be left behind in this world ...so that people would know I was here.....
and that is when I decided to pursue my art full time...so I could be home with my child and create each and every day.....It is also why I started to write and illustrate children's books....because for years to come children would be able to read and enjoy my art.....it is very fulfilling and this is what success means to me....A lot of you may not know this...but I left the world of Technology and Business (15 years to be exact) ...the proverbial rat race....with a great income to enjoy far more benefits and far more successes all in my home sweet home.... so the next time you look at your lives...think about success and really define it ...it may change the direction your life is in and bring you some new focus....after all isn't life too short? So my two pieces for this week's challenge represent Motherhood and art....my passions...my successes...
Have a wonderful day!!!!
Hugs

My cute Little Angel...This is after bath time ...he wanted to paint with Mommy...and the results are below....I love each and every one of his paintings....and seeing him each and every day as he grows into a little man....that makes me feel successful.....

I really love that quote because success isn't always about the material things its what you as an individual define what your own success is. :)
Lovely depictions of the truly important things in your life. Thanks for sharing your talent with us!
Wonderful quote and an exquisite illustration of mother and child. I am so impressed with your son's painting. He obviously has a real feel for it which is probably not surprising considering his heritage!
Stunning artwork - as always - but this one is special.
What a wonderful quote and your paintings depict the essence of its meaning Diana- beautiful art!
Wooooooooooooooooooooow !!!
I can say no more. Love them.
Thanks for sharing your story with us, Diana, more brilliance from you, you must be so proud of Cole, what an eye for colour, he has!
Diana, your painting never fails to make me smile and inspire me. But when I see youe photos of Cole, well... I wonder what he thinks as he's creating art with Mummy? Bless you both!
beautiful colours and i love the quote!!
i love your words & your paintings! and seems there is the next successful little lady already following your spirit...
I love this post Diana! This is the same reason I stayed home with my 5 children--we went through tough financial times, but I've never regretted it, and I don't know if I ever would have discovered art like I have.
remoinds me of one of my favourite songs ' my way' by frank sinatra. and that little boy just grows more cute every day, and what an artist he is. give him a big smooch from auntie soulyb
I just love seeing your art work side by side with Cole's. He has a really wonderful sense of color already. Just fantastic to see you encourage his artistic exploration.
Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic quote and wonderful paintings.
Love your beautiful quote, Diana.
Your creation is so origenal!!!
Diana,
What a wonderful post!!! I love your artwork and your adorable son's too!!! I so agree with you...I had my sons late in life and left my teaching career. I made teddy bears while they grew up and sold them at shops and shows...now they are both in college. Enjoy....those years fly by and you will long for them when you hit my stage...By the way I think your son has great talent! Used to teach Kindergarten and I can definitely recognize it...:)) xoxo
What a heart-warming post. I so love being a Mother too - I think our sons must be about the same age. I love how he is dressed as a skeleton while he creates another one of his masterpieces! Such a cutie!
Lovely paintings and quote Diana!
And Cole looks so cute in his cool pyjamas! Oh I love kids when they come out of the bath!
Cole's creations are wonderful!
have a nice day!

Have a wonderful day.
Wonderful piece again and thank you for sharing your son' art too. He is one lucky little boy! You can just see his love and devotion to his work from the photo. As a teacher that makes my heart sing!
Great post and wonderful paintings. I really love 'The gift of motherhood' I think that's a beautfiful piece!! Gorgeous work!!
Another day, another beautiful painting :-)
Lovely, Diana. Love the quote. So glad you are producing a painting a day, even though knowing that makes me feel guilty.
Cole, dear, your are truly an artist. You have a great eye for colors. What a wonderful painting you have made.
Your post is awesome, my friend! I was just talking about the importance of my child, Alex, tonight! She is everything to me just like Cole is to you!!
Great post!!!!
hi diana!
what a beautiful post.
i LOVE Cole's new painting! truly amazing!
#26 is so sweet and your sons art is wonderful!
You are so right! The mother/child is very beautiful. The palet is great as well but the other one is my favourite. And the picture of Cole is wonderful. Please tell him I really love his wonderful coloured painting!
The pallette painting is AWESOME! One of your best!
It is interesting to see your boy painting. My own child (now 22) once expressed an interest in art. I brought him to several "open houses" at the art school I attended. He said he considered a career in the art field, but he sees how miserable I turned out, he thought he'd look elsewhere. He is currently persuing a career in broadcasting.
I love your painting of MOther and son or should I say of Diana and Cole.
He is such a darling.
I love his paintings too.
Every single one is a masterpiece.
Cole is professional! I think that he know what he doING!!!
love your paintings...and i'm totally jealous of your son...i could never paint such beautifully.
i'm not a big fan of success, i just a drifter and love living life like that.
Cole is such a cutie and seems to have a remarkable sense of color. wonder where he gets it!
Beautiful quote and beautiful pieces. Love the picture of your little darling :) sooo sweet! The painting of motherhood is just fantastic!! I love the composition and the feeling it portrays!!
Linda
