Monday Artday - Theme " Beatrix Potter" my Tribute to her

Hi Everyone...

I just had to participate in this week's Monday Artday. It's been ages and I needed to do something just for fun...

This week's theme is "Beatrix Potter" and I am always amazed at the wonderful books I read as a child that my son is reading now...this is why I am passionate about Children's books...and illustrating and creating wonderful things that will be around for years to come....

I just love PIGS!

Arty Girlz Challenge - Summer

Hi Everyone...

I am busy with some projects so I only had 10 minutes to get my illustration done for the Arty Girlz Challenge Blog this week....and who could pass up a theme like "SUMMER"...and how sweet of them to include my sweet baker in the sampler this week!!! thanks

I share with you my quick sketch...because to me summer is all about lazy days at the cottage up North....and it also means yummy food and treats....so I added a selection of some of my Yummy Sketches of the Day....

they all scream summer to me....

I'm Back! and it was just what I needed

Hi Everyone...
I just got back from a weekend with my boys...it was just what I needed to get my mind off of things...and today Cole brought me a cute flower and ran to share it with me....he picks flowers for me all the time...but today it meant the world to me.... I am so grateful ....

Here is a pic of Minnie (our family dog) playing with Brad's new boat on the weekend...she swims and tries to catch it...it is pretty funny!

I have to pop by and visit all of my blog friends....I have missed you all!

Yummy and Cute Baking Finds!!!

Hi Everyone...



I just finished baking some yummy treats for all my friends who are coming tonight for a festive food filled night....

We will end the night with a bon fire and S'mores.....what fun!

whenever I bake I always do some shopping for special cake pans....and today I found this magical pan.....the pan is filled with pretty bees, butterflies and lady bugs....
oh yeah...to get your own cute creature pan you can head to a local Williams Sonoma or shop on-line.....

Local Bakery Art Dedicated to all my "Sweet" Blog Friends...& my Arty Girlz Challenge - "Shapes"

Hi Everyone...

This week's challenge on Arty Girlz is Shapes and I wanted to create something yummy and fun with this theme...so here it is....

It's dedicated to a local bakery in my town...I am so in love with cute little bakeries....I feel like a kid walking by and I have to stop and stare...

Everything about bakeries is amazing...the cuteness...the great scent of freshly baked goods and of course eating some yummy treats....like cupcakes and cookies....yummm!

This special baker, creates wonderful treats in all shapes and sizes....no one can just walk by without picking up a yummy treat....she wraps them up in the cutest pink boxes and ties them with some ribbon.....


I also dedicate this to all of you....
my "SWEET" blog friends...

we will call this a virtual bakery where we can eat treats and drink some lattes...

Illustration Friday - "Detach"

Hi Everyone...

This week's theme was a little tough...but after a while the only thing I could think of was this...

"Her bridesmaids took extra care to detach the ribbons and bows for her special shower hat"

but the only thing the blushing Bride wanted was for that hat to be detached from her head...lol

I am having fun with more colour this week...I wasn't sure when I would be able to colour this piece that I created in the Hospital for my Father in Law....but I found some peace in working on this one today....I will have this one matted and framed for Brad....

Meet Lovely Rita....my cupcake loving Skater Girl....

Looks like I am in full colour mode this week...

I finally finished off Lovely Rita...the trendy, cupcake loving, skate board chick that loves riding through the park....her favorite colour is pink and she loves trees....especially the tall old ones that have seen many wonderful things....

Rainy weekend...but in our minds it can always be a sunny day at the beach...

Not sure how your weekend was....here it was rainy and stormy all weekend...

I pulled out this sketch and decided it was time to finish it in colour....so in light of the fact that it was an indoor weekend....I wanted to think of the water and sunnier days...

I am finally feeling a bit more energized...so I wanted to post a new illustration here and share a few quotes I just read....

I'm Back...just recovering from a great extra-long weekend!

Hi Everyone...

We just got back from a wonderful long weekend...but all the water sports have taken a tole on me...

We had the greatest time with friends up at our family cottage in Huntsville...

The weather was great and we shared some huge laughs along the way...

I am recovering from some bruises so I have taken it easy today...


We also popped by my brother's place up at Sand Lake...he is building a lovely place and it will be tons of fun to hang out here too....

Well back to rest...
