Day 9 of 21 Day Creative Exercise - Arty Girls Challenge and some fun ...

Hi Everyone...

Thanks for popping by...Today's theme on the Arty Girlz Challenge blog is "3D" so I created a freehand cut out of a tree...then used Foam tape to give it dimension...I did it all in white to get the full focus on the 3D effect....

I also did a quick ink sketch of a tree with some love birds...

I also added a wonderful ATC that I got in the mail from Lisa Griffin...what a pleasant surprise that was...You have to pop by her blog to check out her amazing art...I pop by daily to see all the wonderful things she creates....

Have a wonderful day and please pop by again to see what I am up to...

Cheers,
Diana

ATC from Lisa... she made me a special cupcake!

Mixed Media Monday - Girls and Dolls

Hi Everyone...
Mixed Media Monday's theme this week is "Girls and Dolls" and I created this canvas using some of my artwork, acrylic paint, and gold leaf...

Trees are my favorite and adding the "Women of Spring" and a cupcake made me think of Spring and these girls are happy to be part of this doll tree...even though the trunk doll is a bit scary and worn out...
Hope you enjoy it!
Pop by all week...I have more of my Glam series coming too...
Cheers,
Diana

Inspire Me Thursday - Outside my comfort zone...

I have thought about this week's theme and thought and thought about doing something outside my comfort zone...and this is what came to mind...
There was this tree in the far distance that I could see from all of our back windows and from our backyard....it was a very old and wonderful tree....it gave me inspiration and comfort just looking at it change throughout the seasons...Over the last few years it was not doing so well and the owner had to have it cut down on January 21st 2008....The day this happened I just watched in awe as the tree fell to the ground bringing with it many of my thoughts. The tree was so large and was more than 100 years old...imagine all that has happened in it's lifetime...Later that day my husband brought me a part of that tree...(he knew how much it meant to me) I am going out of my comfort zone and will be carving something special out of that tree....I am wondering what it will be ....it has to be something magical, something as special as that tree was to me...
Wish me luck...
Cheers,
Diana
