Hi Everyone....I love this time of year.......
It all started Friday when Cole and I played hookie and headed to our town Fall Fair....we had a blast enjoying all of the sights, scenes, rides, games and treats....then Friday night we headed up North to our cottage to enjoy the sights of Autumn leaves and fires and wonderful times....I will share more of these photos this week...

I also worked on some new paper art dolls that I will be sharing with you soon!!!

This extra long weekend was just what I needed for some rest, relaxation, hiking and fresh air...all the things that inspire me in Autumn....

Have you been to your Fall Fair?

Sunday Sketches and Sunday Postcard....Autumn is in the Air

autumn sunday sketches

I love this time of year....Autumn is the culmination of all the hard work we put in to grow wonderful things....the fruits of our labor...so to speak...so this also symbolizes all the work I have done this year with respect to my illustrations and my published work....It is time to celebrate and enjoy the colours and changes ahead! I purposely only posted the ink sketches....a juxtaposition on all the Autumnal colours out there right now...and today I plan on heading to see some of that colour...and some of the pumpkins that are harvested....

Happy Sunday...

You can also pop back all week as I share some new paintings and some new illustration work....

My submissions to Sunday Sketches this week and Sunday Postcard art....

Theme Thursday - Girls and Candy Apples

Hi Everyone....When I saw the prompt over at Theme Thursday I instantly thought about these cute best friends that were at the fair in my last promo...so I took them and made them new again. They are best friends and they are sharing a sweet moment together....

The one thing I love about fall fairs is the yummy treats....and I always try way too much and need a bottle of the pink stuff when I get home...but it is so much fun....I picked candy apples for these friends...a little healthy and a lot of sweet......

Hope you're having a sweet day!!!

and if you have some apples around you can make these....

Candy Apples

Courtesy of Michael Smith - Chef at Home

Ingredients
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 2 cups corn syrup
  • Large pinch cinnamon
  • Few drops red food colouring
  • 12 Honey Crisp apples
  • 12 popsicle sticks
Directions
  1. Pour the water, sugar and corn syrup into a heavy-bottomed saucepan and bring to a boil. Continue to boil until the mixture reaches 290 degrees on a candy thermometer. This will take 20 minutes or so. Stir in the cinnamon and food coloring, and pour the hot mixture into a large bowl set over a large pot of simmering water. This will help it stay hot and make it easier to work with as you dip apples.
  2. Pierce the bottom of each apple with a Popsicle stick, then dip into the syrup and roll until fully coated. Repeat with the remaining apples. Rest on a parchment-lined baking sheet until they harden.

and I just can't get this song out of my head....

Illustration Friday - "germs"

Hi Everyone....I just finished a fall promo for some huge postcards that will be heading out to clients....and the theme for it was the fall and all the fun Fall Fairs....We have been attending some local fairs and we got some germs from it and ended up getting sick....so for me as soon as I saw the prompt I thought of the last Fair we attended and the germs we picked up there...

You have to love this time of year and it wouldn't be the same without some fun times at the Fair....

Happy Friday !!!

p.s. don't forget to enter my giveaway for a custom watercolour....
