Illustration Friday - "Vacant" Happy Hallowe'en Everyone!!!

Happy Hallowe'en Everyone...
I made a special paper cut piece for this week's theme "Vacant"...so instead of a pen I used a knife freehand.....

All the kids knew the house was vacant but the lights were all on every Hallowe'en and nothing would stop them from heading there for some Ticks and Treats....BOO!

More Hallowe'en Cupcakes...and my spooky skull jack in the box!!

Hi Everyone....for a minute there I was all into Christmas...but this week is Hallowe'en so I have snapped out of it and snapped back into Hallowe'en....

I am in the midst of so many Christmas projects for my shop that I almost missed out on posting some new Spooky illustrations....

So these are a peace offering to all of those who are not ready to even remotely think about the Holidays....

I will be baking some great cupcakes for Hallowe'en so I will make sure I post them ....

Christmas in October....Arty Girlz Challenge # 58 "Fabric"

Hi Everyone...I know it's a bit early for a Christmas Tree...but I just had to make one for this week's challenge...

This week on the Arty Girlz Challenge Blog we are to use fabric to create something.....

So I made a hand cut felt tree with embellishments I cut out of exotic fabrics....

My latest series...and my submission to Mixed Media Monday

Hi Everyone...

I am merging my love of watercolour and ink with my love for paper cutting to bring you my whole new series of work...Each piece is an interchangeable piece of art ....all you have to do is change the background to get a whole new look....I suggest you always use an acid free backing in any colour your heart desires....Have fun changing it to fit your décor needs or the changing seasons…

This photo is taken against a window to show all the cut out details....

This first piece was created for my wonderful friend Michelle....It is titled "Dreaming"

I will have 3 new pieces that will be available in my Etsy Shop on Monday October 27th ...

Fashion Week 2008 - Some Photos to share.....

Hi Everyone....

Fashion week was so much fun! I am thrilled that we were able to check out some great shows and enjoy some great laughs with friends....This is a photo of Me, Monika (my sister in law) and our best friend Michelle.....

I thought I would share a few photos from the XS show. We had so much fun....we also got gift bags filled with treats....You can see Monika's evening dress that she received in her SWAG bag....
I got a cool black and white spring summer dress and a bunch of other treats....

It was a great time and even better with the great company....and now for a few of the fashions...

So you think you can dance...she made an appearance with some dancers that performed for all the guests....














This is everyone checking out the gift bags......Monika's awesome evening dress....

My Brother and I....he loved the show too and the great music.....

Illustration Friday "Repair"

Hi Everyone...

I have a special place in my heart for bee keepers and bees...they are amazing little creatures that are so important .....When I was growing up my Dad kept several hives in our forest...he was a wonderful bee keeper....He was so passionate about his bees he would visit them each and every day....Harvesting honey was fun....I will have to hunt down some photos to share with you all....

Today's illustration is Emily , she has been voted the "Top Bee Keeper" in her town. She knows that today she has to do some repairs to the hive....and the only way to calm the bees is to get out her smoker....

Fashion Week 2008 - The Spring Collections are out!

Hi Everyone....

Inspired by Fashion week I created this watercolour painting ...a new addition to my Etsy Shop!

This week is Fashion week in Toronto and we are heading to see the Spring collections. I am lucky enough to have a sister-in-law who works in the heart of the fashion world and has all kinds of great connections.....she reserved us some VIP seats....and I can hardly wait to head to the show thursday night.....

Arty Girlz Challenge - "Blue and Orange"

Hi Everyone....


This week's theme on the Arty Girlz Challenge Blog is Blue and Orange....My two signature colours are blue and orange so it was so much fun to work on a new painting today and also to include one of my Neck Art Pendants.



The painting is titled "Paris Couture" as it is the heart of fashion and beauty....



My pendant is inspired by all the coffee lovers...it just makes me feel warm to share a cup of great coffee with a bunch of great friends....

Illustration Friday " LATE"

Hi Everyone...

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this week's prompt was Ellen's favorite memory.

you see she was at her Baby Shower almost ready to give birth when the only thing she could think about .....was the day she told her husband she was late....

Please note that she is eating a pickle and a cupcake at the baby shower...all to be washed down with some chocolate cake and a big glass of ice cold milk....

Feeling "Batty" and my latest custom creations

Hi Everyone...

Bats are so interesting....do you know that some of them live up to 35 years....

I have always thought about them during Hallowe'en or a good "Dracula" movie.......but they really play an important part...

More Hallowe'en Inspired Illustrations coming right up!and a blog link....

Hi Everyone...
one of my favorite things during this season is looking for that perfect pumpkin...and then carving it and saving all the pumpkin seeds....

we roast them with Fleur de Sel from France and eat them up!!! they are so delish.....





I also wanted to add a pumpkin from my past....it won first place in the pumpkin contest....I carved the face and stitched ribbon to make the stitches...I also added food colouring to add some fun....
