Illustration Friday & Inspire Me Thursday theme "Leap"...and updates on my Grandfather...

Mr. Leap of Faith Avenue...always wondered why he seemed to be missing mail...

I wasn't sure I was going to do any illustrations for a few days....but I couldn't sleep and kept eyeing my sketchbook...so here is a quickie for IF and IMT...

I would like to thank everyone who left me all the supportive comments about my Grandfather...it means a lot to me to hear from you ...and I am grateful....

we spent today with him in the hospital and it was nice to be able to actually talk to him and he understood me and responded...his condition is not getting any better at the moment...so we pray and hope for the best....

For My Grandfather....

Hi Everyone...I made some special sketches tonight for my Grandfather...he is very ill and in the hospital now and I will be spending most of my time with him over the next few days...

I have a special angel for him...to watch over him when I am not there and I feature some homemade apple strudel for my Grandfather...his favorite.... as the "Yummy Sketch of the Day"

I love him very much and pray for him...

Yummy Sketch of the Day - Chocolate Marble Bundt Cake , a cute little black dress...my orchid blooms again and my baking...

Hi Everyone...

I was tagged by Nancy Lefko a few days ago to identify a few interesting facts about me...
so here goes...

1. I like to sculpt in metal and weld sculptures..I usually do this with my Dad or Brad to help me...

2. I am seriously thinking about opening up a Business with 3 of my closest friends...the details will remain a secret till we figure out our Business plans. but it is a "Sweet Plan"

3. I draw most of my rough sketches in bed. I finished my first Manuscript for a children's book and am working on all my own illustrations now...

4. I love to bake all kinds of goodies and love shipping them to work with my husband...

5. I have a sketch pad by my bed and when an idea comes to mind, I wake up and do a rough sketch...pretty silly I know...but I have so many crazy ideas...most of these are my dummy covers for magazines...like the New Yorker..etc...

well that is a few little things...

Today I feature a bundt cake for the "Yummy Sketch of the Day" I was looking at all my baking equipment and saw my bundt pans and this just came to mind...lol...

and now that I am addicted to these cute little black dresses I added another one to the mix...

Today I baked some homemade chocolate chip cookies...so had to add a shot of that too....and I am so thrilled that one of my orchids from a year back has bloomed again...just looking at it makes me long for gardening season and warmer days...ahhhhhh!

Yummy Sketch of the Day- pizza, a cute little black dress, some art class and Pancakes...

Hi Everyone...

I am in the mood for some pizza...so tonight I feature a nice slice of pizza for the "Yummy Sketch of the Day"....

Today's little black dress has a bit of colour for fun and I added 2 photos tonight....
In the first one, Cole is taking his first watercolour lesson and he sure loves to paint....he can hardly wait when it's "paint time"...and we missed our family Pancake Sunday ritual so I made a special batch of pancakes for Brad today...these have lemon zest and chopped strawberries in the batter and then I topped them off with some yummy cherries ....(his favorite) and some strawberries for garnish....

Yummy Sketch of the Day - Special Dedication! a cute little black dress and some fun updates...

Hi Everyone!!

What a wonderful weekend...
Our Best Friends Gary and Lacy had their Baby this weekend...Ellie Mae was born on Saturday the 23rd of February....and she is so cute! I had to make a special "Yummy Sketch of the Day" dedicated to her and her wonderful family....Gary and Lacy have two boys and were hoping for a daughter and their dream came true!

We were all celebrating at a dinner party at Marina's House when we got the news....Marina is one of the finest chefs!!! what a great time we all had feasting on tasty food and playing games....Thanks for the great times everyone...and so glad we beat all the men in our 3 hour game of Taboo!....lol...

I also added a cute little black dress to tonights post...just for fun....

Illustration Friday - Theme "Multiple"

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today's theme is "Multiple" and the first things that came to my mind...multiple births, and multiple fruits....

the birth is pretty self explanatory but did you know that there are only a number of fruits that are refered to as "Multiple Fruits" in this group we have the lovely pineapple....and I love pineapples so I had to incorporate all of this in this week's submission...hope you like it....and for additional fun I had to add some yummy ice cream and cupcakes...hehehe

Inspire Me Thursday "Action Painting" , Yummy Sketch of the Day, and another little black dress....

Hi Everyone...

This week's theme on Inspire Me Thursday is "action painting" “style of painting in which paint is spontaneously dribbled, splashed or smeared onto the canvas, rather than being carefully applied.”

In 1997 I did this painting when I was in my "introspective period" It seems to fit the theme this week.....

The "Yummy Sketch of the Day" is a refreshing Panna Cotta with a lemon sauce and fresh fruit.
I added a link to a recipe for this dessert.

I had to add a new Cute Little Black Dress too...

Yummy Sketch of the Day - Orzo Salad with Veggies, a cute little black dress and a Peace Meme....

Hi Everyone....

Today was the first year for the New Holiday we call "Family Day" ....everyone looks forward to an additional long weekend and it is nice that they made it a family thing...In the true spirit of "family day" we had a nice visit with my parents and my brother and his fiancee...so nice to share good laughs and a nice dinner together...

Today I feature a nice Orzo vegetable salad as the "Yummy Sketch of the Day" and look forward to hearing from everyone with special requests...I have a request from Ces that will be featured tomorrow.....I also started a new collection of cute dresses...this collection is my "cute little black dresses" collection....

Yummy Sketches of the Day - threesome of cupcakes and some fun updates....

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. My friends and I had a wonderful shopping trip on Saturday and Sunday was a blueberry pancake late breakfast with a nice relaxing afternoon....

Today I feature a nice threesome of tasty cupcakes for the "Yummy Sketches of the Day"....I hope you like the flower ones that are me hinting to Mother Nature that I am ready for spring....

"Yummy Sketch of the Day" Requests - Mocha Ice Cream Pie and a French Maid - and some fun updates from a great Valentine's Day....

Hi Everyone....



The day started off with a fun session with our son drawing Valentine's for Daddy....then we made a wonderful feast for dinner...ended it with a slice of the cake I made and then watched Celebrity Apprentice...wow ...what a crazy show tonight....why can't we all just get along....



Today I feature two special requests that I received in my comments over the last week....I had a special request for a nice slice of mocha ice cream pie ....and a funny request from one of my best friends....Carmen requested a french maid outfit....this is actually a special request for our friend Mary who had a special date tonight and this is what she was planning on wearing...(Dan you lucky guy) The fun thing is that my best friend Mary is dating my husbands best friend Dan ...so where ever we go we have everyone there...it is tons of fun....

Can't wait to hear the scoop from tonight when we all do our massive shopping trip Saturday....



and then for the more toned down Valentine's day I added some photos of our son drawing with me today (funny how he likes working like Mommy...both hands)
and him eyeing that cake....I love when he yells "cake" it is so cute....

and to end tonights post a photo of the huge peanut butter cookie Brad is taking to work to share with all his friends....I made a chocolate ganache on top...yummm! and ofcourse I had to make special lattes for us....hearts all around..and a great day and night....

Yummy sketches of the Day - Happy Valentine's Day!...Yummy Photos...and some of my favorite heart things.....

Hi Everyone....

I wish you all a "Happy Valentine's Day" ....may you enjoy some wonderful treats and be grateful for all the wonderful things in this world...

Today's "Yummy Sketch of the Day" is a collage I made with a few sketches...I have some roses for you...cupid with his arrow and ofcourse I have some yummy chocolates.....

I baked all of my treats today...I made a special heart cake for tomorrow night and a few mini cakes ...one for my parents and one for my husband to take to work for a special treat tomorrow....

I also added a few photos of some of my favorite finds that are so "Love" oriented....I always make special vignettes on my table for Valentine's Day....my special blown glass lady from Paris, with her bag of croissants...the eiffel tower and some hearts and candles...love it....
