Paint Party Friday.....Put on your Favorite Dress.....

Hi Everyone....

There is nothing sweeter than the cute dresses from days gone by.....I love the smiles and happiness they bring and every one back in the day wore their best dresses each and every day.....I think it would be pretty amazing to step back in time when women were always decked out .....and men were always charming....

I am on another one of my retro fashion modes and am having so much fun painting these ladies with a nod to days gone by....and special dresses that were simply worn even to the grocery store....what is the last thing you wore to the Grocery Store?

You know you love putting on your favorite dress....so why not wear it....stop saving it for that special occasion when everyday is a special occasion......

Sharing my latest in this series with all of my super talented friends over at Paint Party Friday....

Happy Friday and Happy Creating Everyone!!!

My mom dressed this way in the 1950's when I was growing up. Well done!

This is beautiful. I love fashion from bygone eras. you're right, woman really dressed as woman as a matter of course. now i'm more likely to be found in jeans and sneakers than a dress!

  23. These are co neat-o as we used to say when I was a teen in the 1950's! Thanks for bringing a smile and memories of dresses worn in days gone past. Now I wear chinos and boat neck 3/4 length sleeve tops to the store! And sandals today because it is hot here in Illinois!

  29. This is a great illustration as well... My grandmother always wore skirts and dresses in public and never never went anywhere without her "beads" which were a gorgeous strand of pearls.... I have great memories of heading down to the bakery with her being immaculately groomed and in a summer sun dress and "beads" at 7am on a Sunday morning, while I looked like a street urchin in comparison!!!... These illustrations are bringing back such wonderful memories for me...xx

  31. You are so right. I'm amazed at how people dress even for more formal occasions. Or what used to be more formal occasions. We went to the theater recently and everybody was so dressed down.

I love the retro look you've created. Very Mad Men-esque! :-)
