Paint Party Friday....The Ballerina Mommy.....La maman de ballerine

I have no idea where the time goes...Friday already...wow...the week has flown by right before my very eyes. I always look forward to Fridays for several reasons....besides the obvious start to the weekend which I always love as I get to spend more time with my family and friends.....but also because I take a moment on Fridays to think about all of the things I have accomplished during the past week and think about what I would have done differently or changed if I could....and I take that all in and make plans for my up-coming week....it is all about learning for me....and I always take a moment every day to be thankful for all of the amazing things in my life....and by "things" I don't necessarily mean inanimate objects or material things....I mean things like being a Mommy....my amazing family.....taking care of my family....my health....being a full time illustrator and author....teaching art to children....these are the things that truly fill the soul with happiness....these are the things I am most grateful for.....

so in light of one of my most favorite "things" ...being a Mommy...Today, I share with you a piece I created for a special dancing Mom and her little wee baby....a piece that I hope will be cherished forever....This piece is titled ...."The Ballerina Mommy" or in my virtual Paris Studio....
La Maman de Ballerine....

I am sharing this over at Paint Party Friday....I wish you all the best today and during the weekend....We have an extra long weekend here in Canada....as we celebrate Thanksgiving with our Family and friends....so more reasons to be thankful and grateful....

As I bid you adieu I just want to ask what are you Grateful for today?

Hugs
Diana

and P.S.

pop back Saturday to share something sweet with us....it can be anything....art, food, photos, you name it...

what a lovely illustration. your post is so positive and makes me very aware of how despondent I've been feeling recently, mostly because of things over which I have no control but which seem to be affecting my ability to achieve the life I dream of. however, in a bid to appreciate what I do have, I'm thankful for the most amazing husband and the love we share and the simple pleasure of snuggling up together on the sofa with our dogs (my children!) thanks for the reminder to be grateful! Happy thanksgiving to you.

  12. Such sweet memories this brings me! Yesterday, I was at a ceremony for my oldest's pre-graduation from high school and all I could think of was moment like this- that's what I'm grateful for- that I have so many memories like that of my children.
    Thanks for that!

  16. Very sweet and charming. Such a thoughtful post as well, many times it can be easy to forget about the special "things" in our lives that should have our gratitude.
    Enjoy your holiday weekend!

  17. That is beautifully said, Diana. And ballerina mommy is precious. Today I'm thankfull for my warm and dry sweet home. It's raining like crazy and I had to go to the city. I don't need to mention I got wet every time I stepped out of the car and to top it all I stepped in a puddle as well so I had to go around my business with a wet foot. Not fun.

  33. What a sweet ,precious painting, I love it!!! I am really thankful today because our supervisor who we all love came back to work this week after having a heart attack on Labor Day weekend. He's doing fine but a scare like this reminds me of how fragile we are and how precious life is! Don't hesitate to do and be what you love NOW!!!Deb
