A painting a day - #009 - Memories of Tuscany...my submission to MMM this week...something new...landscapes...

Hi Everyone....

Did you know that some of the most influential people lived here? Tuscany is known for its beautiful landscapes, its rich artistic legacy and vast influence on high culture. Tuscany is widely regarded as the true birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.

It has been home to some of the most influential people in history, such as Petrarch, Dante, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Puccini. Due to this, the region has several museums, most of which (such as the Uffizi and the Pitti Palace) are found in Florence, but others in towns and smaller villages. Tuscany has a unique culinary tradition, and is famous for its wines (most famous of which are Chianti, Morellino di Scansano and Brunello di Montalcino).
I am travelling the world with this new project...and I am so thrilled to be travelling with each and every one of you!!!

I am submitting this to MMM this week....as the theme is something new and I am trying out painting some new landscapes...
Where do you want to go next on this journey....I need some new ideas of places to visit during this "painting a day" tour!!!
Hugs
Diana

  16. Totally awesome, Diane...loved your journalling as well. Since you have covered Tuscany, as I have also in my kitchen with the granite, italian stone tile, wine label border, and let's not forget the roosters :)) How about going to Greece in one of your travels...I have used A Greco-Roman theme in our LR-DR area with the pillars, paintings, etc. Would love to go there! Thanks for sharing this daily art showing with us. Love it. Hugs, Gayle.

  19. I think that Tuscan landscape was truly beautiful and you captured the essence wonderfully, but too easy for you my friend. My challenge for you is to paint a scene of an industrial city and give it some of your magic and sparkle! Take us somewhere like Manchester!
