Turtles...turtles ...rah rah rah! Arty Girlz Challenge Blog - Sketch

Hi Everyone....

I am busy with some mini-paintings that are part of my give aways...so in the mean time I thought I would post one of my character sketches and since the theme on Arty Girlz Challenge Blog this week is sketch I am adding it there too...

I did a study on some sea turtles for a potential children's book...

Here is my character...

I love turtles....

Cheers,

Diana

  2. I love sea turtles, we saw one in the wild years ago on our honeymoon on St. Thomas. It was amazing! They are such big characters with just seem float and glide through the water. Lovely sketches for your book!

  7. Oh, I love sea turtles too. In Hawaii, they're called "Honu" -- pronounced hoe-nu ("nu" rhymes with "do"). There are many Hawaiian books about Honu. Island children enjoy them as stuffed animals and jewelry. Nice.

They symbolize protection, I have used them in some of my mandalas as well.
