Illustration Friday Submission - Stitch - my hand stitched doll

When I was about 5 years old...I got a little raggedy anne doll....she is about 4-5 inches tall and I took her everywhere I went for years....She was hand stitched ....so I thought I would make a special illustration as a tribute to her....perfect for this week's theme ....
To this day, I still have this doll and it sits on my desk in my studio...bringing me a smile and warmth from the past and inspiration for the future...
silly I know...but funny how something from our childhood can do all that...
Have a wonderful day!
Cheers,
Diana

  1. she's wonderful and brings back memories of my own Raggedy Ann....alas, she is gone....but I have always loved the simplicity and innocence that is Raggedy Ann.

  4. Thanks for your kind comments but I might say that details are your specialty. I especially like the threaded needle on the spool because that is what I exactly do. Thanks for explaining how you do these attractive and fantastic illustrations.

  12. when i was about that age too i ha a fave doll that i bring everywhere even beside me when i sleep. one day coming from school (well in school toys are not allowed) i saw my brother and his playmate ripped her off and destroyed her. mean act which to this day he didnt know why they did it. i was devastated then. but i guess we just laugh at that now.

thanks for sharing your art and reminding me of my silly childhood..
