Theme Thursday - your favorite letter

To sleep perchance to dream...that is the question!

I have always loved the letter D...not just because it is my first initial...but because it is the first initial of the word "Dream"....I have been and will always be a dreamer........without dreams we can't imagine new things in our lives and without dreams we can't strive for something out of this world...are you a dreamer....a hopeless believer that dreams can really come true? I know I am....and I know that I am the only thing stopping me from living my dreams...so I work hard every day and I dream a little more each day too...I figure there is no harm in being a dreamer....

I also love having good dreams at night...you know the kind where you really don't want to wake because they are so great....oh how I love those!!!

Live each day as a Dream...and you will get closer to having your dreams a reality....

Three Muses Challenge " you are what you eat"

When I saw this week's theme on Three Muses...the first thing I thought of was pigging out and then it grew from there....The Petula Triplets loved their bacon and made sure they all cooked it up so there would be enough for the three of them....They bought so much weekly that they started to get embarrassed so they came up with this cool scheme that they would dress up like piggy ladies and shop together...then when people stared into their shopping carts they would say they had a special event and needed a lot of bacon...they called the event...."You are what you eat" hence dressing up like little piggies....

Little did the town folk know that they just LOVED their bacon!!!

My Recipe Postcard gets featured on "They draw and cook"...my submission to Illustration Friday this week....theme "Dip"

What a wonderful surprise...my recipe for Guacamole just got featured on "They Draw and Cook" ....a wonderful blog where illustrators and designers that also love to create in the kitchen can send in submissions to get featured....I am so happy that they loved my recipe card!

I make this recipe about 3-5 times a week....it is that good....and good for you...with lots of flavor....I hope you head over to "They Draw and Cook" and say hello!!!

Mixed Media Monday - Eggs....my piece....these little birdies "Crack" me up!

Meet the Quirky Triplets...these little babies were born in the early Spring and were hungry right out of their egg shells....so their Mommy had to work extra hard to gather up enough treats for them.....They were very happy....They had the nicest view in the whole yard...

Oh Spring...don't you just love the way it feels...the warmth...the way the sun feels on your face as you close your eyes to take it all in.....

The early blooms....the birds singing and another fresh new start...I think we all love that....

Sunday Postcard Art - "Time for Tea" more of my Alice in Wonderland....

Whenever I think of tea lately...I am thinking of amazing tea parties like the one's they had in Alice in Wonderland....so this is a piece I put together using my fan art illustrations of Alice in Wonderland Characters........I just love to "imagine" all the neat things that can happen in Wonderland.....

Art Creations Friday - background

Everyone was Green with Envy ....you see Donna had the most amazing eyes...She was known for her Green eyes....she was a dead ringer for a younger Betty Davis...but no blue eyes here...only shades of Green....

What colour are your eyes? and do you like the colour....or would you want to change the colour?

I think it's human nature to always want something that we just can't have....but I have to say that the person staring at your eyes is thinking the same thing....

I created this piece using a background texture over at "Art Creations Friday" ...I really love textures these days.....

Theme Thursday - 2 x 4 - my take...Sunday Best

Every year Mathilda's Mom would find a new fun hat for Easter Sunday....and Mathilda loved her new hats....they were always fun and very artsy....

but this year was special...this year she helped create her Sunday hat and added all of the fun things she did with her family as a tradition during Easter...

The most important addition to her hat this year was a hand sewn cross that was inside her hat....she wanted it close to her....

No one knew about it but her...and that made it even more special....



Sometimes we may not show our faith openly...but as long as we are aware of it...that makes it a true gift....

CAC - Butterflies challenge ....some friends I spotted in the backyard with a rainbow...and my Paris inspired fabric....soon to become ....a

Hi Everyone....where does the time go! I was just working on some butterflies for my new toppers and decided to use them in this design for CAC this week....the theme is "Butterflies" of all things...maybe I have some psychic powers or something....now if only I could predict the lottery numbers...lol....

Anyway....I also spotted a really beautiful rainbow in our backyard and it was beautiful and a full arc....then I looked and noticed these friends too...

and last but not least....I have been sitting on this Paris inspired fabric and now I finally know what I will be sewing this week....a special apron!!! wish me luck!!!

Mixed Media Monday - vintage children my way....hippity hoppity style

Hi Everyone...I was so stumped with this week's prompt over at MMM this week...so I too it outside the box and created my version of some vintage kiddies dressed as cute white bunnies....

I would like to introduce.....Penelope, Magdeline and Veronica....These sisters are always having fun and love to dress up like each other....They were so happy that Spring has Sprung that they decided to put on their best white ears and hop out on the town for some fun....

and I also create these cupcake toppers in my shop...so since these are some Vintage faces...I thought they were perfect for the theme too....

Illustration Friday - "Expired"

Hi Everyone....here is my latest piece featuring the Mad Hatter and Brown Hare..... I am submitting this piece to IF this week...the theme is "Expired" and no matter how expired the cream was in Wonderland...it never dampened the tea party fun.....

Here are all the Characters together and I also added a few of the earlier piece of Alice, White Rabbit, Cheshire cat and door mouse.....

This was a fun collection of Alice in Wonderland fan art I worked on....

Spring fun!!! and New things...tags, and more toppers...

Hi Everyone....I have been so busy with work and some fun projects this week...oh and the weather has been fantastic....so we have been enjoying the outdoors more too....

This week I create some new Bunny and Paris inspired tags...I would use these on special packages tied up with special ribbons...all with special things inside...I am stocking these in my shop now...and have so much fun working on these that I can't stop!!!



and here is our little munchkin Cole learning to drive already!!! he loves this Jeep he got from my parents for Christmas...initially during the winter months he drove this thing in our basement and now he is outside with it every single day...walking running and then driving it when he gets tired...he is a riot!!!


Minnie likes to be involved in all of Cole's games...he chases her around the yard with his Jeep...and she lets him get away with it....they are hilarious to watch!!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!! my Three Muses challenge piece....Incognito....

Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!!!

Joey was really wise...but he never told anyone who he was...he was always dressing up in costumes...when it came time to graduate, he came with his wise old owl costume...his identity was concealed for his entire education....hmmmmmmmmmmm.... makes you wonder...who was this Joey guy? was his name Joey or not? makes you wonder....we better get Paul Williams from the Young & the Restless to get this guy all checked out.....After the formal we should all hook up for some Green Beverages...and green cupcakes....

I am submitting this piece to the Three Muses Challenge this week....theme "incognito"....

How many of you head out incognito? once and a while I like to go out incognito and pretend I am a star that needs to get away from the paparazzi.......

I have been busy as a bee this week with some really fun projects and also trying to stock up my shop...I have some cool new things that I will show once I get them listed...

Mixed Media Monday and CAC Tuesday - Party Animals....and I made it to the front page!!

Hi Everyone...I don't know what it is ...but these cute piggies always want to live life to the fullest....they always made up reasons for parties....and they were wild!!!

This week on Mixed Media the theme is "party animals" and on Crazy Amigos it is party....and my cute piggies are all ready to show you all a great time...so grab your dancing shoes....wear your best dress....your best suit...and get ready for a wild time!!! These are some illustrations I did lastnight....I have a love for piggies...they are so cute!

and speaking about parties...I was also so thrilled that my cupcake toppers made it to the front page of Etsy!!! they are so much fun and add some art to your parties....

how cool to be featured..I guess my photo taking skills are getting much better.....

Sunday Postcard Art - Goddess...this is for all of you!

Hi Everyone....I am still working on my master bathroom re-decorating that turned into some more fun redecorating in other rooms....and so on.....so I had to put together a quick piece for this week's challenge....I think we are all Goddesses and sometimes we need to be reminded...so this week I have this piece as a tribute to all of you out there...you know who you are...you are all beautiful, smart and talented and need to release your inner goddess!!! A custom commission for a Special Bride to be....and how cool that she has the same name as me!!!

I recently was hired to work on a custom illustration that would ultimately become a very special shower invitation for a special bride to be....


Her shower is all about candy...they plan on having the coolest candy displays and sweets that will make for some really amazing fun!!!

I guess everyone at the shower will be like a kid in a candy store....

The final design was turned into 80 special handmade invitations. I love working with wonderful clients....

Today I finished all the hand embellished sparkle and they are ready to head to the wonderful client!

This was a really fun project !!!

I hope the Bride has the "sweetest" day ever!!!

Theme Thursday - "Spring"

Hi Everyone....with the warmer weather I am thinking about Spring and the birds and the bunnies and everything that is new again... I also looked at my photos from last Spring...and I am even more excited to enjoy the colours of Spring this year!!!! This week over at Theme Thursday....the theme is Spring...how perfect!!!

I am also thinking about Renee....and seeing everything new again...

I hope she is smiling and using her wings to fly!!! I know I will think of her everyday....and smile because I know she is smiling at me ....and a song for you my dearest Renee...

An Angel gets her wings to fly....Fly Renee...we love you!

Hi Everyone...it is with great sadness that I write this post....you see my friend Renee has passed away....I don't see it as her leaving us...I see it as another Angel getting her wings to fly....she has no more pain and is with us each and every day.....

She has been and will always be an inspiration to me....and I hope you all take a moment to head over and look at some of the wonderful posts she had on her blog...she was so many things to many of us....her wisdom and special sense of humor always made my days even brighter....and she was always so supportive and kind too.....

We will not forget you dearest friend....bless your heart and fly Renee...fly!!!

more of my Alice in Wonderland Characters....White Rabbit gets a Newspaper suit jacket in lieu of the Three Muses Challenge this week...

Hi Everyone....I am having so much fun with this series of my version of Alice in Wonderland...Yesterday ...you met my cute version of Alice.....if you missed her pop back in via my link and check her out...I think she is so cute!!!

Today I have the White Rabbit, Door Mouse and the Cheshire Cat....

This series will be available in my shop...I hope some of you decorate some fun children's rooms with these pieces...and when you do...send me your decorating ideas....

CAC challenge - Swirls....meet my Alice....

Hi Everyone...I can't wait to head out and see the new version of Alice in Wonderland....the movie looks like it will be such an inspiration ....

As a huge fan of Alice I decided to create some fun fan art....in my own special way....so I just started a series this week...that is all about Alice in Wonderland.......

This is the first piece....Alice herself...in my style.....

Pop back all week for more characters to unfold.....

and the print has some fun swirls in it...so I decided to submit it to the CAC challenge this week...the theme is swirls......

I am also adding prints of these to my shop....I think they would be so cool as a collection in a little girls room....I hope I get pregnant soon!!! I would love to give Cole a little sister....or brother....
